This was possibly the worst hotel stay I have ever experienced. I have stayed in many hotels this year alone for business trips, I have used this site to book all of them and I have never had a single issue with any stay. Upon arrival at midnight after 11 hours of traveling, we walked towards the entrance of the hotel only to observe a man hanging out of his 2nd floor hotel room window blaring rap music. We were given the wrong room information and spent 10 minutes trying to get into the wrong room which unfortunately had other guests in it. When we finally got our correct room we noticed mold on the bathroom ceiling and a weird smell resembling a dead rat in the room paired with staining on the carpet. At 2am we were woken up to an individual who was not a guest at the hotel (I know this because I complained about his very distinctive vehicle and the hotel had no records of a guest matching that), parked outside our window blaring music with bass that you could feel in the room, this happened every night of our stay. In the morning I took a shower only to notice the shower leaked everywhere on the bathroom floor. I used all the towels to try mop it up, I went to call the front desk but our room phone was covered in a wet substance that did not have a clean/chemical scent. I went down to the front desk instead and politely requested fresh towels and informed them of the leak. No one throughout our whole stay came to look at the leak or tried to reassign us to a new room. We did not get towels either, but I . I politely asked again after 2 hours if I would be able to get towels, nothing. While drying off with a face cloth after a shower (because at this point I had requested towels 4 times to no avail) I noticed two centipedes on the bathroom walls. When we travel for work it means we are pulling 13-16 hour days outside, in the heat, before we are able to return to the room. When we left the morning of our first day working, I politely asked two separate staff members if we could please get our room refreshed and new towels. Upon arrival back at our hotel room very late that night, our room had not been touched, and we had no towels. I, again because our phone was disgusting and not able to be used, walked back downstairs to the front desk where I spoke with Dondra, the manager. She was appalled to know what was happening with our stay. She got us fresh towels and promised our room would be cleaned tomorrow while we were away working. The towels were damp and the mat was stained, but we at least got towels. This was about the only help we got throughout our entire stay, which i am grateful for her help.
The following day we left for work, I noticed the fridge in our room was broken, it was set on the coldest setting and the knob had been broken off so all our food we had meal prepped was frozen solid and wasted, when we returned at 1am, after a solid 18 hour day, we are very courteous of guests around us so when we enter our room we make sure to be very quiet and not slam doors. We were the only guests on the entire right side of the 2nd floor that felt that way. From 2-3am guests next door were yelling, slamming doors repeatedly, blaring music, and running up and down the hallways. Couldn’t call the front desk because despite our room being cleaned, the phone still hadn’t been touched. We were then awoken again at 5am to children screaming their heads off over and over and over, and then the parent’s subsequently screaming at THEM. Throughout our entire 4 night stay i believe we only got 3-4 hours of rest a night.
It was time to leave, FINALLY, we have never packed up so quickly. At that point I was so beyond frustrated, so beyond tired, I just left. The entire trip was ruined due to the way we were treated at our hotel, we have never ever had an issue with one single thing at IHG hotels let alone the LIST of things that went wrong on this one trip and the staff's refusal to help, minus Dondra. I never complain, I am the easiest going person there is. I don’t care if someone’s baby is crying at 3am, I don’t care if it takes an extra hour or two to get towels, it happens it’s okay. But I have never in my life felt so disrespected by an entire hotel and its staff.
I thought, maybe this is just a one off experience for us, but my employees who stayed directly across from us had the same, if not worse, problems with their...
Read moreAfter almost two weeks of staying at IHG properties, the Holiday Inn Express in Indianapolis was our final stop before arriving back home. Had we known about the poor quality of this hotel, we would have continued driving through the night just to get home. Compared to all of the other IHG properties that we stayed at (even just on this trip alone), this one did not even come close to the level of service and quality of rooms that we we have come to expect.
Prior to our arrival, we called the front desk to let them know that we would be arriving late in the evening and wanted to insure that somebody would be at the front desk. A curt and unfriendly response confirmed that there would be someone there when we arrived and the check in process was met with an equal level of unenthusiasm. Poor customer service can mostly be overlooked when staying in a nice room where you feel you can get a good night’s sleep, but unfortunately the customer service was better than the room itself. While our room itself was fine, given that the bed was made and there were fresh towels put out by housekeeping, the hotel should not be having guests stay in this room until it has work done on it. Throughout the room there were spots with paint missing or peeling, drywall ripped off, vents filled with visible dust and pieces of wallpaper (I think?), large gaps in the bathroom where caulk is missing, and even just easily fixable things like the light shade askew because it wasn’t placed on the lamp properly. Additionally, the appliances in the room were old, loud, and inconsistent (the air-conditioning unit and fridge in particular). Outside of our room as well, the elevator that was in operation smelled like a restroom and the lobby felt dingy (additionally, the worker stocking breakfast was doing so in sandals). Although a more budget friendly hotel, this is eons below the standard that we have come to expect from the Holiday Inn Express and I would deter anyone from staying at this particular hotel...
Read moreFirst off the staff has been very helpful and very friendly, room was nice and breakfast was on par for every motel we've stayed, We arrived Thursday afternoon and had a uneventful first night the second night not so much because a baseball tournament was in town so there was kids running up and down the hallways till almost midnight and some people complained that they knocked on their door the worst part was when I went down for breakfast a guy said you better check your vehicle so I walked out to my truck to find that my tonneau cover had been cut and just over a thousand dollars worth of tools stolen, after the cops showed up and report was taken he stated that if we ever come back this way that he would recommend not staying here because this wasn't the first time they've been here, there's a closed down cvs/Walgreens on the corner that has homeless living in the place where the trash dumpster was. I would highly recommend that if you stay here and have a truck with a tonneau cover I would roll it up and take everything out of your vehicle and make sure you can park closer to the building again the staff was very helpful but the wife has called to talk to the general manager twice now and have yet to hear back from them also there were motorcycles and cars racing up and down the road right next to the motel. We know of three vehicles that were broken into that night. One vehicle had all their luggage and dog food taken. The other had a window broken with tools taken. Another post claims five vehicles were broken into that night. The 3 vehicles that I know about were all parked in the front lot and one was parked right next to the Holiday Inn Express sign which you can see in the picture posted for the Hotel how close that is to the building. We dont want our money back but the staff should let people know what could happen to...
