Lovely place as you walk in, bright and inviting. Each table was set very nicely before you even sit down. Everyone I ran into that day was kind and friendly. They also have a beautiful patio and outdoor yard setting. This is why I would definitely give the atmosphere 5/5.
Service was very attentive to details on what was requested, but it did take a bit of time to be greeted again in between each go around. They were not super busy while I was there, otherwise I'd give the benefit of the doubt on this factor. 4/5 in this regards. (Really a 4.5/5, but google be googlin')
Food.. unfortunately this was very underwhelming. High price for what was fairly far from worth it. I can't speak for the full menu, but as far as the Bacon slab skewer Appetizer and the Brunch Burger, it could either be cheaper in price, or better in quality and quantity.
The Brunch burger, while very filling, hade a very bland taste. It is not far better than what you could get for $15 down the road, possibly even $10 depending in where you go. (Quality for this could be boosted)
The Bacon Slab Skewer, while delicious through and through, you are spending $10 for 3 pieces of thick cut bacon. The Soy glaze that comes with it is on point though! (Quantity for this could be boosted)
Cocktails were fairly priced from what is around town. I had a few of what they had to offer. I was very satisfied in this regard.
Cocktail #1: Bloody Mary. This came with a delightful mini slice of pizza and an olive/tomato skewer. This was a nice little prep to my eating outing. I liked it, but if you are not a fan of pickle, you may find yourself regretting this request. The Bloody Mary here is very heavy on the dill flavor. I personally love pickles, so it was delightful!
Cocktail #2: "Brooklyn Baby" Whomever came up with this mixup should be in charge of the drink menu as far as I am concerned! Perfectly balanced in all flavors. Can't say much more other than go here and at least have 1, or 2, (or 3 or more) with a group of friends! You will love it, even if you're not a gin drinker, you wouldn't even know you're drinking gin. If you like gin, better go and get this fine concoction!
Cocktail #3: "Cruisin' for a Boozin'" While this is not a specific cocktail, Gather 22 does offer to add a shot of liquor to your choice of coffee for only $6! (This is quite a deal for what they offer to add). Their coffee menu includes the regular classics from espresso to latte, and few in between. I grabbed a latte and added the toasted coconut rum. It was a delightful addition, and the latte alone was delicious. Would come back to have this any day.
Over all, since this place is represented as a restaurant/food spot, it wouldn't be my first choice. However, if I was going to have drinks with friends or a nice coffee with a special boost, I'd absolutely...
Read moreAfter seeing positive reviews I was excited to try out Gather22 but came to find an odd and disappointing first experience coming here yesterday that just wasnât very welcoming.
My husband and I came around 1:30 or 2 and originally we did ask for the back patio and the host told us itâd be a wait but we go to the back bar in the meantime and have a drink there. So we back there and waited at one area and were asked to move to some other seats on the other side of the bar. No big. We waited about 15 min before being acknowledged by the bartender who had just then told us sheâd be with us in a minute. I will acknowledge she was working the whole time, I think doing orders for the whole restaurant but definitely was stretched.
Then the host came back and said we could go to the back patio but then we asked to then stay at the bar as we thought we were getting to order drinks soon. She said that they couldnât have that many guests in that back bar for 1 bartender. This was a bit confusing as there were still several available seats at the bar (including the ones we currently were sitting in.) She then told us if we wanted to stay inside weâd need to be at a table. This felt like a miscommunication between the two of them as the bartender had just told us sheâd be with us. If there was a ratio issue or something along those lines that could have been better explained BEFORE we were seated as apparently we were never able to get served drinks at the back bar location? My husband and I decided to leave after like 20 minutes as it was an awkward interaction and we didnât get even order drinks let alone food. We ended up somewhere else and question coming back let alone at a peak busy time frame. I share this review as everyone was friendly but I think communication and acknowledgment could have gone a lot further. If thereâs some kind of ratio limits of bartender to guest limits then I suggest you limit options to only the tables and the patio or make it clear that drink orders need to wait to be seated at a table after a certain # of guests are at the bar. I also think you should try to get an additional bartender as she was very busy for 1 person for an after lunch âcrowd.â If this was the service we get at 2 in the afternoon it makes me hesitate...
Read moreHad a strange experience here this morning. Came in with three friends for their brunch, and the food was good but the service was not.
I walked in to meet my friends and asked for a table, and was directed to the bar after saying we didnât have a reservation. I walked past several empty tables to meet my friends who were indeed at the bar, where again I asked for a table. I was told that it fills up quick on Sunday mornings, and that itâs good to ask for a reservation. Again, I asked them to check and see if they had any tables available. They did. So finally we were seated at a table. (?) We ordered coffee, drinks, and food, which was not bad. After an hour and a half, another waitress who had been there the whole time came and asked if we were ready to start an order, after we had finished eating. We told her no, and she asked if we were ready to pay then, which we had already done. We took this as a cue they wanted us to leave.
Not exactly sure why they tried to relegate us to the bar and then wanted us to leave, especially since there were several empty tables the entire time we were there. Maybe because we were four men? We were dressed casual, but not frumpy or gross. Idk. Regardless, wonât be back. That was awkward and strange and I havenât been treated that way at other similar restaurants. Disappointing, this was a spot I was looking forward...
