I was around 10st, and I yelped tacos. I have noticed when you are in different areas you get the results you are looking for. Living in Plainfield I don't get alot of good authentic Mexican food places that come up on my search. I found this place which had decent reviews so being from California I thought ok, I will give it a try since I know what it should look like and taste. I ordered taquitos - you can order 3 or 6 I ordered six. They only come in chicken. On top is lettuce. Cheese, and tomatoes. In California normally you would also have sour cream and guacamole as part of the order. The taquitos I would say are very good and filling. I originally had nut order to go, but decided to eat there. Instead of getting 6 I only had 5. I wasn't going to say anything because I had to have them fix a burrito. We ordered a carne asada burrito supreme. This came with steak, lettuce, beans, rice, and cheese. When you picked up the burrito it completely came apart. My friend was very frustrated, which I understood. I went to the counter and asked for a tortilla to fix myself. The lady asked what happened I told her she asked for the burrito, and she said they over cooked it. Duh. I did allow them to fix it, and could I see the kitchen standing behind the counter. So I was ok with that. Lastly, we got the dinner with 3 tacos. Its cheaper to do that, because the rice and beans that come with the meal turn out to being $1.10 more. We got the el pastor tacos. I wanted to mix the 3 tacos with a variety of meat, but you can't do that with a combo meal. The basic comes with onion and cilantro. Which is fine that's the authentic way. I don't want cheese and lettuce for an up charge. This was really good. I can tell you the rice and beans were homemade. If you made homemade refried beans before you would know. So now why the 4 stars..... remember it was originally a to go order. I would not be happy when I got home clear across town. The shortage of the taquito The burrito getting wrapped with that over cooked tortilla. (they knew better) Not having shredded beef (they have ever other kind of beef. Like 5-6 different kinds., but ground beef. Yuk) They have 3 different kinds of yummy salsa. A red spicy, green avocado spicy, and a green tomatillo very mild. I loved them all. I also got a Horchata drink. Good, but needs a little more of the powder added to it, for a full tasting flavor. Lastly, if you pay by credit or debit card they at 4% to your total charge. Bring cash. Make sure to check your order before you go. I would definitely go back. The cost though was $32.86. For a general taco shop that's expensive. We are not in California So why charge those...
Read moreOkay, I ordered a toastada, what arrived was a toastada shell with nothing on it, if I knew thats what it was I would have never ordered that, I ordered chips and salsa and only got chips, and the steak fajitas were very tough and inedible and they sent 3 corn tortillas which again if I knew that is what came with it I would not have gotten that item, and it did not have the normal fajita stuff either, most places give you lettuce, tomato, cheese, and have a house salsa that you can put on it, which is why I ordered chips and salsa in which they delivered chips no salsa, now that is not the drivers fault, however, I put on the instructions to ring the doorbell and to meet me, not drop it off qnd leave, it was only out there on a chair for 10 minutes because I watch the delivery progress but it is not perfect and that is specifically why I put on the delivery instructions to ring my doorbell, I make sure the porch light is on for them, so delivery was for sure subpar, the food was well below par, almost inedible and for sure not what I ordered or wanted. SWay below par for the food, not at all what I wanted, the delivery UberEats as well was sub-par so definitely do not recommend either, UnerEats will recieve their own...
Read moreUPDATE- I went to the restaurant last night- 30 Nov 23. That was my last time going to this place. The young woman at the counter is unprofessional and rang up my order incorrectly. When the order was complete, she called it off twice, and appeared to be upset because it took me several moments to reach the counter. She snapped at me, " your order is ready." I recognized immediately that an item was missing. When I mentioned that my drink was missing and that my order wasn't complete, she at me "dang! Give a minute! " I'm busy!" I find out when I return to work that my order is completely wrong. $ 20 dollar meal in the trash. I requested no dairy items on the burrito and plain chirros. Cheese of the sandwich and strawberry filling in the chirros. Lesson learned. Maybe if you turned the music down and provide good service to all customers, I wouldn't be typing this review. Won't be back...
My 1st time dining here, and I have to say that I enjoyed the experience. This is not my typical choice of cuisines when I dine out. However, the Vegatarian burrito was delicious. Please check...
