We recently placed a large to go order on 7/6 for our Sunday dinner with my in-laws. We did a light quick check of items since they did not do it like they use to do. One of the things in the order was the chicken critter family meal, the salad always comes in a large foil pan so we didn’t bother to open since we knew it was the salad. We came home and got all boxes out and when I took the foil lid off of the salad, a GIANT roach/water bug came running out of the pan. I mean huge, like 2 inches! Complete chaos among all of us in the kitchen as I did scream, startled the youngest and my husband was taking all of the pans out of the house as quickly as possible and tossed into the trash. I had my husband place an order for pizza so we could have something for dinner while I attempted to handle this discreetly by calling the location. The first manager I spoke to sounded concerned and she apologized but stated she was not from that store and asked me to hold for another manager. When she came on the line and I told her about it, she didn’t even sound phased (concerning) and asked me to come back and they would provide me another salad. That was a hard no. Clearly it’s coming from the same salad that was prepped for the day. I said no thank you we were not going to be eating anything from the location but they they needed to know. She took my information, the phone number I placed the to go under and said when she had a moment she would email certificate that I could use at any location if I did not want to return to that one. She was not at all concerned or even showed any remorse for such unsanitary experience. I NEVER received an email, call, follow up. WOW. We had to throw $170 order plus tip away and spend additional money to actually feed my family that night. As a business you should be more considerate of people who choose to spend their money at your establishment. I understand that your company will not go under, your location manager will not lose sleep over one person saying they will not return, even after visiting this location for over 20 years but if you are reading this review as a customer just be aware that something as disgusting as a giant water bug running out of the family salad doesn’t deserve the time of day for the Indianapolis Shadeland...
Read moreI’m only giving 4 stars, because of the 5 star service of our server, James, tonight. Overall with how the cooks treated our food, 0/5. but give that man a raise! We fully expected TR to be busy tonight, with it being graduation day for the schools in the area. My fiancé and I both work in foodservice and have more patience than the average person when it comes to the service industry. With that mindset, we came in, James was very friendly despite how clearly stressed out and busy the restaurant was. He brought us our drinks, and salads in a very timely manner. After about 40 minutes of waiting on entrees, he came to our table clearly upset with the BOH, they neglected to start our order until everyone around us had already gotten their food. Essentially he expressed to us that the BOH had mentally checked out for the evening due to the high volume of sales for the evening, and that he dug into them for how unacceptable it was that they neglected our order for almost an hour while we patiently waited. His solid communication and sympathetic nature was what secured him a tip bigger than our bill tonight. Again, we get it. My fiancé and I both run restaurants in food service, it’s understandable. Once our food came out, it was clear how little the cooks GAF at that time, my burger was RAW, raw meat was seeping out of the side of the bun. Once he came back by, James was appalled and very upset with how the BOH treated us because he pushed our food, & offered to comp our entire meal. We told him he absolutely did not have to do that, if he could just comp the burger that would be fantastic. Mind you, at this point he had already brought us a $15 gift coupon for our wait. While he was tending to us another server’s table started harassing him about him not bringing them a glass bowl. He handled it so well! The professionalism, and ability to keep his cool despite being very clearly stressed, was impressive. That man deserves a raise! And that’s why we gave him a huge tip this evening! Hopefully it made him feel a little bit better about the hard work he does. Good Job tonight, James! I’m sure not much appreciation was shown to you tonight, but we REALLY...
Read moreMy fiancee and I came in to get some good Texas roadhouse steaks. The food was Great but our waitress was the worst I'd ever had. At first she told us she would give us our bread after we sat down. We got salads and ate all our salads before asking her again for our bread. When she brought it she set it on the table and said There really hateful. She immediately turned around without asking if we needed anything else. My water was empty 3 separate time's and all 3 time's I had to yell Kaleigh that was her name. Two of the time's no one payed any attention to me so I set my empty glass on the edge of the table and when she came close I yelled her name three other's heard me and she ignored me. I do drink a lot of water because of a swallowing problem so I could of choked on my food and died and that waitress wouldn't of paid any attention. I kept noticing she kept hugging the old guy across from me and gave each of them at that table 3 bags of peanuts. She kept checking on the tables around mine too. I guess I didn't rate that high because when she did bring our steaks she set my girls down nice and slammed mine on the table and again said There it is. She immediately turned around and never asked us if we wanted any steak sauces, refills or anything. I has to keep yelling her name for a to go box. When it came time to pay my bill she put my bill on the table. I said I'm going to pay now before you take off. The bill was $41.75 so I handed her a $50. Bill. She took her time bringing my change and when she did she shorted me .25 so I told my fiancee I guess she already figured out her tip. It was the 3rd time we had been to that restaurant and the only time we ever had that waitress. If I come there again and get her I will walk...
