We just got home from Noble Romans, and I will have to say, the service was great but the pizza was terrible! We ordered a large pan pizza with pepperoni. The pizza came out quickly and was nice and hot. The workers were great.
The cheese itself was actually good, but the sauce was extreme overkill on black pepper and the pizza overall had so much garlic that the pungent taste of garlic was all we could taste when we left. We love garlic, but it was so overpowering, along with a margarine taste and the strong black pepper that we all had to gargle for a while.
Also, if you are looking for good prices, you might opt for somewhere else. The pizza was a whopping $20.00 and the breadsticks, which were very good but had a prepackaged tasting nacho cheese sauce was $7.00 for a family size.
Not much better food than Little Caesars $5.00 pepperoni pizza taste-wise, but four times as expensive.
For us to come back, they will have to slash their prices and change the sauce and lower the amount of garlic and black pepper, because for the price, they do not compete well with any of the other...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWhat a pleasant surprise to find an original Noble Roman's Pizza restaurant while on a trip to Indianapolis over the weekend. Wasn't even looking for it; just clicked "restaurants" in Google Maps and it was on the list of stuff near me. HAD TO GO!
My memories are of the pizza they made in the early 90's. I don't think is really like that anymore. I used to love their small chopped pepperoni on the pizzas which just had a special flavor. That wasn't present on my pepperoni/sausage hand tossed I ordered. What was there was a bit more cheese than I really needed with "toppings" hiding underneath much of it.
The pizza was decent, but it didn't invoke any long lost inner taste bud memories. The place was packed, so it was obvious the locals still appreciate (what I was told was) the last franchised location (and the interior is dated as such).
I cannot comment on the breadsticks. A couple buddies of mine back in the day said that's what they liked the most about Noble Roman's, but I've never been about those, so I just stuck...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIt has been years since I've eaten at a Nobles Roman's. The Shadeland Avenue location was my go to place. Feighning.the taste for a Personal Pan Sausage Pizza led me to this location following an online search. My adult son, joined me for this trip down memory lane. We arrived with masks in place. Upon entering the restaurant, memories flooded back to those bygone years on Shadeland. The atmosphere was the same. The female host/cashier was very friendly and took our orders in a timely fashion. We were impressed and felt comfortable by the stringent safety measures (spacing of seating & sanitizer pumps) in place. This was my FIRST dine in experience since the pandemic. In addition to a Personal Pan pizza, my son ordered those iconic cinnamon squares. Ummm, ummm good. The only negation were that the pizzas were not made fresh upon order. They were plated and handed to us upon ordering. In hindsight, we wish we had requested fresh ones. Overall, the drive from the far Eastside...
