Corner Sundry — Restaurant in Indianola

Having been a patron for nearly 50 years, it's a delightful pleasure to walk in the door. The plethora of drinks, both hot and cold, are perhaps the backbone of this establishment. The long favored cherry coke was available here much earlier than the mass produced product by "Coke-Cola". The decor is both charming and nostalgic. Patron ages range from the very young, who have much fun sitting and swirling around on the bar stools, to the much older folks, who wished they were swirling on the bar stools. We were super excited to try The Corner Sundry tonight after dinner and as soon as we entered the door, the female employee working behind the counter rolled her eyes and shook her head looking at us with annoyance. It was 7:40pm (check the cameras) and there was still 20 minutes to closing. She was very clearly frustrated and when we turned to leave I told her not to worry - we surely wouldn’t be ordering anything. Super disappointed.

I visited the Corner Sundry on the west side of the square in Indianola, IA, the afternoon of 12/13/23. In the midst of errands I decided to sit, relax and have a cup of coffee. I'm very glad I chose this small place, my first time there. My individual cup of coffee was freshly brewed, tasty and hit the spot.
