Chelo's Burgers #3 — Restaurant in Indio

So yesterday I ordered $27 worth of food from Mayra … everything was good until I ordered my extra sauce. Mind you I always get for free when I ask for it they never charge me just like at the datepalm restaurant. She told me it would be four dollars and I explained that I always ask for the sauces at both locations and I never pay she says well I just work here. But I said this is ridiculous. I just spent $30 I don’t like the food without the sauce please can I have them she said I’ll give you two. Paid for ther two because I have four people in my family. Then what happened? This was shocking I went to the bathroom came out and tell my girlfriend arguing with her because she didn’t know my girlfriend was Mexican and spoke Spanish, so she was bad mouthing me to the cook in Spanish At this point I was upset and I asked her name and said I’d call the manger she said go ahead however, then picked up her cell phone and Raced to call the manager first to explain her side of the story before me this girl has bad service and honestly needs to be let go. I just stopped to use the restroom before getting to Coachella car camping and saw this place. It was exactly what we needed. We got a chicken salad, a mushroom Swiss burger and zucchini strips.

First of all, everything is grilled to order. the chicken was perfecy cooked and seasoned and the salad was fresh!

The mushroom burger was a great bite. Again, the burger was cooked to order.

The zucchini I was just craving but didn't expect much because usually when I get zucchini strips at a place they're whatever. But these were amazing! The breading was perfect, not to heavy and didn't fall off. It was also seasoned with the perfect amount of salt! The zucchini was tender but not too mushy! Low-key low-key it hit so good at 8 p.m. at night in the car line to get into a Coachella. The only weird thing is that its at a gas station which can be kind of sus at night. The service was great too, the girl helping me was so nice and answered all my questions. Suffice to say, this is defoginna be the spot from now on when I go...

The positive reviews are well-deserved. We had great burgers; avocado cheeseburger and bacon avocado cheeseburger with fries and a drink combos. Real avocado, crispy bacon, piping hot fries. Burgers served in a plain bun with lettuce, tomato, American cheese, and sauce reminiscent of Bob's Big Boy (really dating myself) burgers which is basically mayo and ketchup. Food comes out fast, the dining area is spotlessly clean as is the AM/PM mart and gas station which it is connected to. And the shared restroom is also spotless. This is a gem of a place. Would love to try the Mexican dishes they have, too, but... another time. One small thing, the menu prices are too tiny for anyone but eagle...
