Mulan Chinese Restaurant — Restaurant in Indio

I have never rated a reataurant less than 3 stars. And I never been so humiliated in my life as I was here! I guess if you're mexican don't go eat here. They didn't offer us water like the rest of the people. They weren't open to substitutions on lo mein instead of rice for my kids so that was upsetting. The worst service I ever seen or experienced, they just dropped the forks on the side for US TO SET IT UP. Dropped the soda and food and we had to serve it out to our family. The food was ok but a little syracha sauce would have made it better (which we werent offered either). They didn't offer any soy sauce for their dry rice either! Not once did they ask if we were ok or if we needed anything. And 5 minutes after we received our food we got our check, they didnt even ask if we were done. It was upsetting felt like we were being thrown our food and being kicked out. I honestly didnt even enjoy our food at all after the embarrasment. I did a horrible mistake bringing my family here, this used to be a fancy delicious restaurant. My kids couldn't even eat their food, the pork was too hard for them to chew! This is a family owned business. One of the owner's is the female calling of Clark Kent. She is the host, waiter and server. The only one manning the front floor of the restaurant. Regardless, she still provides the best customer service you'll experience and I am in such awe of her customer servive ability. She's just the best! The food is fresh and delicious. The lunch specials are more affordable than panda express and will fill you up to contentdness. You can always buy the dinner plates for more food. I enjoy the sweet n sour chicken. No offense to the restaurant, but do steer clear of plates with bamboo shoots. I believe they use canned bamboo shoots and they give off a urine scent. We opted not to return to Mulan's Restaurant, until we found that it was under new ownership. Ever since our return, we have been so impressed, with not only the service but the quality of food as well. We have invited many friends to join us for either lunch or dinner, the service and food have been superb. Now did I tell you of their portions? We always have enough for another meal, and the food heats up quite well the next day. BTW, my favorite is the: Pork Lo Mein. Yum!
