One star is a luxury for this "hotel". If I could subtract stars I would give them -3. The service was horrible. All workers at this place except one, Art, made us feel unwelcomed, unwanted and unimportant. The lady at check-in named Sylvia was the worst. No matter how clean anybody can maintain it will always feel dirty because the hotel is old, filthy, and it does need a lot of work. I had two room reserved (2 adults on one and 2 adults and a kid in the 2nd one). In one of the rooms (for 2) AC was broken and did not work. I asked the lady at check-in (Sylvia) to look at it and if it doesn't work, change the room. When we came back from the dinner, Sylvia said that the room was cold enough. We checked and it wasn't cold, AC still wasn't working. She changed the room of my parents, but there was no shampoo in the bathroom, only one soap and one body lotion. My mom took a shower but couldn't wash her hairs. In our bathroom (room for 3) they had only two towel sets, one shampoo and two soaps. The next day after our arrival in the morning (10:30 am) I asked lady at check-in to leave one more set of towels in our room, and we left. We came back at 4:30 pm. Our rooms were not clean; moreover, when I washed my hands and face I found that all towels (including wash clothes) were missing from our room. I asked the cleaning lady nearby to give me 3 sets of towels; she brought 3 bath towels only and said she did not have any other sizes. I went to complain to Sylvia, her responses left me speechless and angry. On my question why our room were untouched she responded that they clean first check-out rooms and then the rest of the rooms. I asked her if she knew what time was now (around 5 pm) and what time they were going to clean our rooms, she responded whenever they have time. On my request of towels she responded that their laundry is not ready yet and will be ready only in 30-45 minutes. I asked why they took all towels from the room if they were not going to replace them, she did not bother to respond. When I asked for shampoo, her response was that she saw yesterday that our room had shampoo. That was it! I raised my voice and ask who gave her a right to decided who and how many times need to take a shower. Sylvia called a guy, a worker at the hotel named Art to come and deal with me. Her face expression was telling me that I am saying nonsense and making a big problem out of nothing. Art came with me to our room, asked what was wrong and what we needed and wrote everything down. He also apologize for Sylvia and said that he certainly understand my frustration and that he will try to fix any problem we had. He later brought shampoos, body lotions, soaps and towels to our room. He was very polite and caring, it was the only positive experience at this place. That who need to be the manager of that place! In addition, although they advertise free Wi-Fi, nobody gave us any instructions about how to join the network. The pool was unheated, but it wasn't its main problem; the pool was dirty too. Jacuzzi was working, but it wasn't clean either. In addition all entrances to the pool area were closed except one that was not conveniently located for us. I asked to open the door that was 10 feet from our room and Sylvia promised to do it the first day, but guess what ... right, it never happened. Stay away from this place as far as you can! I wouldn't pay even $20 for a night there. $5-10 is the best price for this place, but I wouldn't pay even that. I wouldn't like that kind of experience even if...
Read moreIm so happy to rave about this place mostly because of Anna one one RPI employees. She is a true gem. She really goes above & Beyond for her customers to meet their needs. She knows how to sell you a room too man lol. She also ensures & tries to find different ways to make sure that you, the guest, are okay with your requests & understand what you are paying for. I also witnessed her interactions with other customers; I was in awe. Anna's approach and how she talks with guests, deals with concerns & how she answers questions was extremely inviting, sincere and professional. I can't say anything bad about her customer service. Really she alone made our 1st time experience here so awesome. Thank you so much Anna you enhanced me and my kids short time here. So much more enjoyable. You're very polite. Happy I received efficient, superb, and all around amazing help with you. ||Our room was very spacious. We stayed in a 1 bed. It was a big Cal King I think i just melted in it. The mini fridge and microwave were clean and good condition. If i had to complain, it would really be in the bathroom. One side of toilet paper holder was kind of loose but that was already noted in the notes for the room front desk told me. Also we only had one shower curtain that had to stay inside the tub. That personally is kinda gross but i trust they wash the curtains. Other than that everything was very clean & extremely spacious like I said before. The room can get super cold thankfully you you can adjust the temp plus RPI provides a little heating lamp that you can plugin. Oh that reminds me there's not a ton of plug outlets in accessible places but we made do. Just a heads up too, in our room the cal king 1 bed, a thick comforter for bedding was not supplied just a light blanket. The good thing to that is the heat lamp provided plus getting to adjust the temp yourself. All those lil complaints are so minor and have fixes. The service given at RPI makes its all ohk honestly.||I cant forget Chrissy another RPI employee too. I only spoke to her one time. In that one time so was especially helpful to me. She is so sweet and understanding. I came to her with a cleaning problem a spill i guess i can say in the middle of the night too and Chrissy was so helpful and concerning. Overall I really enjoyed my stay here and I hate that I have to go.||I hope RPI knows that they have exceptional front desk employees with Anna...
Read moreI never book less than a 3 star hotel, I expect a 3 star hotel to above average/descent when using a rating from 1-5. I have no idea of who may be rating Royal Plaza Inn over 2 stars. Unless I was given the worse room in the place, it isn't a true rating. This Inn cost $300.00 per night on Expedia!! The staff person checking me in was rude and debasing. She told me they take my credit card to insure I don't smoke in the room (I specifically booked a non-smoking room), steal something, cause damage, etc. Everyone knows that a card is required for security reasons. She didn't need to spell that out in a debasing manner. No elevator to the 2nd floor. We had to carry our luggage up a flight of stairs. The towels were rough and dingy and one set per person, no extras. The shower curtain was dingy with red stains on it. Thank goodness I pack soap. A used piece of soap was in the shower and one small disc was left on the sink. The shower fixtures were damaged and didn't work properly. There was no iron or laundry bag, if I needed one. The furniture, desk and bedside table had no hand pulls, and the finish was peeling. The curtains in the room was coming off of the rod. The refrigerator had no way of knowing it was running, and as I looked to see if it was plugged in, the area behind the cabinet was so dusty, you wouldn't want to put your hands behind it. No bathroom outside the rooms for patrons (I got there a little early and needed to use the bathroom before I could check in I had to go to a different public place). The walls showed the need for paint repair in certain areas. The TV remote was sticky. Every thing was very dated as if it was furnished from a second hand store. I reported this to the clerk at check out because I didn't want to be charged for something I didn't do based on what the clerk told me at check in. I could go on. I've given away furniture 100x better than this place had. When I entered the room, I thought, "They should pay me to stay here." In addition, to think she thought there was something worth stealing, is laughable. For the money, it was completely over priced. I won't go back there. My son and I were in the city for the...
