Looking for Chinese food while shopping in Indio this week, we found this place. We were very hungry and should have read the previous reviews... Ignoring the looks of the inside we sat down and ordered Garlic chicken, and vegetables with noodles. Definitely got garlic, but the other dish was better described as vegetable with awful brown rice. All of this was served on Styrofoam containers, with the exception...I got a Styrofoam plate. The uninspired server said they have "no dishwasher" so we don't get real plates because the owners won't hire anyone to clean the dishes so they can save money. Too bad they don't want to save customers. This is a result of scarcity thinking. The "dishes" are stacked along the back wall where there are booths for additional customers. This is sad, as I don't like giving poor reviews, but maybe the proprietors will read this and make better choices.

Our first time here and it’s Saturday night. This is a neighborhood Chinese eatery that has good food fast at reasonable prices. The menus has all the expected favs and many authentic specialty dishes. The restaurant is decorated in a minimalist Asian style leaning towards orange. We were greeted and seated immediately. Our waitress brought us hot tea and we ordered off the House Specialties menu, Kung-Bao chicken and Sweat and sour pork. Our dinners came out quick, hot and spicy! Note I rate too comparable establishments not across the entire broad spectrum.

MY FAVORITE CHINESE SPOT. Pak Inn has been the spot ever since I was little. We Love this spot. After Covid we stopped going and recently just went back and it’s so good. I highly recommend this spot. We are a returned customer! 🥡✨ I now have the chance to enjoy this spot with my husband and he really liked it! The employees are super nice and it’s always so clean. Service is excellent & quick. 1000000/10.

I've eaten here at China Star several times, the staff isn't always friendly and attentive, but the food has always been good (especially the Orange Chicken). I only write this negative review because recently we came to eat here and when paying I asked the cashier if she would be able to break a 100 dollar bill and she said yes, she went to the back room and grabbed some change. Found out the next day that one of the 20's was a fake!! I returned to the restaurant to explain what had happened and they refused to believe me. The waitress who served us and charged us looked me straight in the eyes and said I don't remember that. So the gentlemen I spoke to said he can't verify if the bill came from them or me so there was nothing he could do. So pay close attention when receiving change here they hold no respect for...
