Sushi ON - An Authentic Japanese Sushi Bar & Restaurant — Restaurant in Indio

Since the pandemic, we don’t dine out. We decided to order online twice from this establishment since they claim to offer curbside pickup. Paid for food on Website, it was super convenient as we wouldn’t be required to go inside. They tell us when to pick up order. We arrive to pickup up our order, on both occasions we parked at designated curbside spot in front of the restaurant entrance, hard to not see parked car when person is at the entrance podium. We called so many times in a period of 10 minutes. They don’t answer the phone. On both occasions we had to go inside.

1st occasion, my husband thanked the sushi chef since we were already inside & tipped at the sushi bar. We didn’t tip the second time we had to walk in to get our food. Answering the phone isn’t hard when it’s ringing off & on for 10 mins. Taking food out Curbside is easier than waiting a table.

I was a food server through my 20’s in college in west LA, which wasn’t too long ago. My good service earned me great tips & gave the restaurant I worked for a favorable reputation. I’m tired of servers feeling entitled to tips for showing up to work. I see it’s become a trend on social media to put customers on blast for not tipping 20% or more. Servers Say customers tips are a must and to not dine out if they are broke. We can certainly afford to tip if service is great. The only person that deserves a tip at this place is the sushi chef as long as they don’t split tips, I’d only tip the chef. I’m glad I record everything for...

We came in and ordered 🍜 ramen. We waited over an hour and still nothing?! After an hour the waiter finally came over and said that our order would be out in a few! 20 minutes and still nothing!!!!!!!!! After waiting for over an hour for Ramen I just asked for the bill. The waiter came over and apologized(thank you) and said there was a mix up in the kitchen!!!!! Ummmm ok so how does ramen get mixed up😒Anywho ever since this place had been under the new owners this place sucks ass beyond words!!!!! The menu change sucks and the service sucks except for the waiters that have been there forever! Y'all the real MVP! And mind you we were the only family in the restaurant at this time and while the owners I think watched me complain about the service all they did was sit there and drink their wine( which is totally cool after a long ass day) but damn lazy woman come hold your restaurant down!!!!! We have been regulars for the past 2 years at least going 2 to 3 times a week because we LOVED the food and service, but ever since these new lazy owners took over this place sucks big time!!!!!!!!!!!! I will never return, I'd rather go to subway...

Randomly found this place on google. Hours were good, one of the few open till 10pm on a weekend. It was busy at 9pm Saturday. Patio was full, take out line was constant. At one point 5 or 6 deep. I was still able to order in a reasonable amount of time, as the girls up front are very efficient with their system, and I got my food in about half an hour. I thought it would take longer just due to the volume they were doing. The rolls were really good. I ordered a chicken teriyaki plate that came with rice and a nice side salad with good dressing. That was standard fare. I ordered a cucumber salad that was refreshing as it came with seaweed and a light vinegarette that was pleasant. The size of the rolls and the filling were solid.
