House of Taco — Restaurant in Inglewood

House of Tacos or HOT is the perfect example of what a mom and pop shop should be…Great food, decent price and superb customer service is far and few in Inglewood so I can certainly appreciate and recognize a business that embodies all three aspects.

Great Food: I was craving tacos, not no frou frou gourmet taco but an actual M&P shop taco. Went to HOT and ordered the two tacos meal which came with rice and beans. I went with chicken accompanied with a hard shell to ensure my taco was well balanced texturally. I wasn’t the least bit disappointed. I thought the shredded chicken was tasty and a combination of the green and red salsa really spiced things up. I was really pleased with my meal. Furthermore, the rice and beans that came with the taco meal was equally delish. The rice was a bit stale but still tasty and I actually enjoyed the stale texture (don’t judge me! I sometimes make my rice al dente) but them beans were the business. So creamy and well flavored. They went well with chips and alone! Overall very pleased with my meal.

Decent Price: No you won’t find dollar tacos, but this isn’t Taco Bell..My taco meal was about $6 and some change and individual tacos are about $1.99 a piece but they are tasty and filling. My brother got a wet burrito which looked amazing and was HUGE and was about $8. Overall it isn’t your local Taco Bell or El Pollo Loco but it’s not too ritzy.

Superb Customer Service: I am not sure if I went on a great day but the customer service was excellent. The place was closing and the cashier was more than pleased with our appearance. We joked, he made recommendation, he was fast and we even had an intelligent debate on who would win between a zombie and a vampire (duuuh a vampire). The service alone was enough to have me come back!

I was trying to hold off from doing this review but it’s almost two weeks now and I have not been able to speak with the manager. Please note, this is a one time bad experience. All my other times have been great. Two weeks ago I ordered a shrimp burrito, got home, but into it and realized it was not shrimp it was turkey. It’s been 5 years since I’ve eaten meat, I am a pescatarian. I called immediately panicking because the last time I was served meat by accident I had to stay in the house for two days. I call and the girl that works at the cashier answers, I tell her what happened and she for some reason had a “tone” she then says with an attitude” we can remake it for you that all I can do” I said “well damn can you at least accommodate a drink or something” she says “no, I can just remake it” there was no apology or “hey sorry about that…” no compassion. by this time now ibhave an attitude! So I go up there with the meal and I say “you know if the roles were reversed I would’ve made sure the customer was okay and offer a drink or refund something. " she the says " why would I do that, you the one with the attitude"… i asked for the owners name and number she then tell me he will be here on monday at 9. I then asked for her name and she says "im not giving it to you". That my stomach was turning in the bathroom on and off until the next day. Ii came around 9:30 that monday not there, not there. Came two days later she says he will be here at 11, not there. By this time I feel like shes playing with me! Ive been calling and they never answer and i called today and Jose is not there. I like to leave detailed Google reviews so that you can experience it from 1st hand. I arrive at the house of tacos there is plenty of parking. I walk inside and I am immediately smell the aroma a pure goodness. I was greeted by the guy behind the counter I gave him my order I then wanted to add something else to my order the man was very patient being that it was my 1st time at the location. I got 2 steak burritos cut in half I alson ordered 2 tacos as well I then decided that I wanted to get extra condiments in the all of my "pisces" changing mind he was very patient with me. I walked to the dining room area which was separated from where you order. This area here is where you can actually sit down and enjoy your delicious food from house of tacos. My order came out in around 12 minutes I received my order,I ran to the car condiments & all.GOOGLE people!!! Why did I eat both tacos in the car?!
