The Five O Two (502 Grill House) — Restaurant in Iowa Falls

Went there for supper last Saturday night around 6:30. It was busy and we had to wait for seating, which didn't take long. Evidently, they don't work as a team. It took our waitress over 20 minutes to clear our table while others just stood around and did nothing. Finally, she cleared our table. Just the center of the table was wiped clean. Unused silverware was put in her apron to be given to someone else. 🤢 we got our water and Mountain Dew. Took our order. We sat and waited for our order. 1 order of gizzards as an appetizer. 1 bacon cheeseburger with fries and one side order of fries was all that was ordered. Got our glasses refilled once. I lost count of how many times food was handled with server fingers touching the food, servers scratching their heads, wiping their noses, and touching their faces all without washing their hands. By 8:00 I walked to the register, said I would pay for the pop, but cancel our order. We walked out. My husband said now what? I said a frozen pizza is better and more sanitary than this. My husband has been intrigued for some time with the 502 Grill house....both the name and location. Whenever we drove by (we live about an hour away) he would say that he wanted to go there "someday." Well, Valentines Day was Someday. We went early, to avoid a crowd. The service was prompt, and our server was pleasant and efficient. The food was excellent! My husband had a chicken-fried steak (hand cut, hand breaded, cooked in their kitchen) which was incredibly tender, good flavor, and perfectly cooked. The gravy was a little heavy on the pepper, but good, nonetheless. I had the best French dip sandwich I've ever tasted! The beef was tender and flavorful with no fat, and the au jus was perfect....not too salty, as some tend to be. The servings were large, and we ended up requesting take-home containers. We were very pleased with our first meal there, and I'm pretty sure it won't...

If I could give a negative 5 stars I would. We had been sitting at our table for 40 minutes and when we asked our waitress what the status of our order was….”well the kitchen is really busy” when there was less than 10 people in the entire place. When we responded “it doesn’t look that busy” she responded “well we have a lot of to-go orders”. Not true. Not one person had been in to pick up an order. Her response (that she shouted) “IM DOING THE BEST I CAN!!!” (She wasn’t, didn’t know which drink was which and then brought us food that wasn’t ours) and then SLAMMED open the kitchen door. Wow.
