To summarize, do not come here if you want good quality food. The prices seemed fair, and the menu items were diverse and sounded appealing, but the food was bland and much of it was overcooked, possibly frozen. My watermelon sangria was tasty, but that was really the only part of the meal I enjoyed, aside from the nice patio space.
I ordered the chicken tacos - at my server's recommendation, as I was torn between a few items - and they were cold...not like they had been sitting and got cold, but that they were intentionally served cold, which is weird. The tortillas were starting to get tough and hard. The chicken was unseasoned and overcooked, like "grilled chicken strips" that you'd buy in the refrigerated section of a grocery store. There was also too much aioli, yet not much flavor. The onion rings were ok, but they weren't served to me hot and they weren't seasoned at all. I did eat most of my meal though because it was a very late lunch and I was hungry, also I hate to waste food.
My dining partner ordered the seafood sliders, which were largely disappointing. There were three different sliders: the shrimp one was bland, the haddock one was overcooked, and the lobster one was so overcooked, mushy, and fishy-tasting that he left it on his plate. His French fries were ok.
Our server was chatty and friendly at first, but he didn't come back to check on us for awhile after he brought our meals. When he did come back after we were finished eating, he asked about the lobster slider that was sitting uneaten, so we told him that it had a strong fishy taste and was very overcooked. The server responded: "oh, that's because of the aioli they use. You know how these chefs are, putting aioli on everything." Lol, what? Bad response. He came back with the check and thanked us for the heads up that the lobster might be bad - "we're going to check that out now" - but we didn't get any sort of discount on the bill as a thank you or...
Read moreSuch a great experience last night at Fox Creek Tavern! I had seen it posted in a foodie Facebook group so many times that I knew I had to try it for myself! Beautiful outdoor patio, amazing service, and even better food! I made a reservation over the phone for two originally but a last minute change made us a party of four. They were able to accommodate us and we sat right away! Our server was very friendly and super attentive (I feel bad I'm blanking on her name!!!).
On to the food: First, the drinks were delicious and there were so many to choose from (I'd be lying if I said I hadn't been stalking their Facebook page for a few days because of how good the drinks looked 😁), but I had to try the Rum Bucket of course! It was huge! My friend's got the Sangria, Blueberry Margarita, and the Espresso Martini and all loved them as well. Next the food menu! So many great options and another very very difficult decision! We started with the Spinach and Artichoke Dip and the Seared Day Boat Scallops (sorry no photos!). Both were delicious!!! The dip was served with bread for dipping AND it was served in a bread bowl! Yum! And the scallops were to die for! For our meals we ordered (clockwise from top left) the Salmon Tacos, Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich, Buffalo Chicken Flatbread, and Fried Fish Tacos. First of all, check out the portions! So big! No one had a single complaint about their food except for the fact that we were all so full and couldn't devour them all. 😂 The fish tacos were some of the best I have had! And the fries were hot and crispy! No one left last night disappointed and leftovers will be consumed today (if they weren't already last night after getting home 😂)! We will...
Read moreI was pleasantly surprised walking into this relatively new restaurant, (Dec. 2019) is the date they opened I believe. I was greeted to a warm atmosphere, cozy oversized leather chairs, rustic wood tables and a friendly waitress. We ordered from a specialty drink list and I finally chose a martini,a cucumber martini, which was filled to the top of the glass. My husband had a long Island Ice Tea. Both boozey and delicious. After sitting and looking over the menu filled with a variety of foods including some amazing comfort foods...to my delight I saw they had a salad bar, which you hardly ever see now. It offered spinach, field greens, roasted asparagus, beets, egg, and so much more.... You cam grab your topping and rolls at a separate station...and it was all that, crisp and delicious. I ordered the Salmon with a compound butter sauce, green beans and smashed potato. All I would have expected, the salmon came medium, so it was moist and melted in your mouth. It was topped with a compound butter sauce, which did not hide the salmons flavor but enhanced it. My husband had the chicken pot pie. It came in a large cast iron skillet, with a fresh crust which flowed over the sides. Filled with loads of shredded chicken carrots and peas, it had a slightly sweet flavor. It was literally enough for two to share! The waitress was very attentive and manager came over and asked how everything was. I quickly told him how delighted we were that we stopped by. This will definitely become one of my favorite go to spots. I encourage everyone to give it a try. I can't wait to go back again! We are actually coming in...
