We have been eating at Pomodori for over 15 years. Our last several orders have not been the same quality, ever since the new owner took over. The staff also have been rude when we've called to politely let them know our orders have been wrong. When Peter N. owned the store, he never would have allowed his staff to speak to customers in such a disrespectful manner. And it is not just us; we have witnessed them being rude to other customers when their orders were incorrect as well. I understand that sometimes mistakes will happen, and we all need to be more flexible during the pandemic with short-staffing, supply chain issues, food substitutions by suppliers, and rising prices with decreasing portions. However, customer service is still so important. If I am paying over $30 for only a hot dog and two small side orders, and this is the third time in a row that our order has been incorrect to the point where we can't eat it, I think I deserve more than a "well, what do you want ME to do about it" rudely stated response when I politely call about a problem with my meal. Fortunately the Newburyport Pomodori's (which Peter N. still owns) is only a couple of minutes farther away from our home than the Ipswich location, and the staff, food quality, and value are still top-notch there. Read moreWe were on vacay on the north shore and our airbnb had a menu for this place. The weather was so bad memorial weekend, all of our planned events were cancelled so we decided to order from this place. I first called to verify a promotion they had on the menu for $.59/ per wings on sundays. We were told yes, so we ordered 50 wings (20 bbq, 20 plain and 10 buffalo) , large french fries and a large Italian sub. When i arrived to pick up my order, the young lady in the front was not welcoming or warm. My total was way off and then i was told the wings were $.75/per wing even tho they verified before i ordered. No problem, i proceeded to check my bag before leaving and realized there was 1 blue cheese in the packaging. I ask the young lady for 2 more blue cheese and her snappy response to me was " It's already in the bag" with such disrespect as if i didnt just spend almost $60. This infuriated me because I'm a customer not a charity! I must say the Italian sub was good but the wings were bland and lack flavor (even the one's that were sauced). Read moreIt's a good place to order single items like a pizza or calzone, roast beef sandwiches are pretty good, there cooks and or chef's are hit or miss, sometimes you can order something it will be great and sometimes not,if you walk in you probably have better luck,for home delivery not so much always missing items or it's not up to par,example order buffalo finger sub get a regular, order shrimp broccoli Alfredo and get chicken and still pay for shrimp,most of the time you order drinks coke or what not and forget to deliver them or get one,done spending money on stuff I'm not going to get,I or we gave them many chances.
