If you’ve ever wondered what happens when a small-town burger joint gets everything exactly right, you’ll find your answer tucked away in Irmo at Lucky’s Burger Shack. This place isn’t trying to reinvent the burger—it’s just making sure yours tastes like the one you’ve been dreaming about since you were a kid. And somehow, they pull it off every single time.
The moment you walk in, you get that “I might be here longer than I planned” vibe. The smell of sizzling beef on the flat top has you questioning if you really needed to run those errands, or if this burger is the errand. The menu is straightforward—no nonsense, no 47 toppings you can’t pronounce—just burgers, fries, and a few tasty extras done to perfection.
The patty? Juicy enough to make you reach for extra napkins before you’ve even taken your first bite. The buns? Lightly toasted with just the right amount of give—like they were designed specifically to cradle beef. And the toppings? Crisp lettuce, fresh tomato, and that melty cheese that oozes just enough to make you smile without ruining your shirt… most of the time. (Pro tip: don’t wear white if you’re going “double bacon cheeseburger” level.)
The fries are golden, crispy, and seasoned like they’ve been to culinary school. Even better, the portions are generous enough to share—but you won’t. And if you’re feeling fancy, the onion rings deserve their own round of applause.
Service here is warm and quick, with the kind of friendliness that makes you feel like a regular on your first visit. You can tell the staff cares about the food and the people eating it, which, let’s be honest, is rarer than it should be.
Lucky’s isn’t just a burger joint—it’s the place where cheat days feel like a holiday, where the only tough decision is “Do I get dessert… or just another burger?” In Irmo, that’s an easy answer: go for both.

Read moreI had never been to Lucky’s since I live out of town but my friends bragged about the food. We got the at 1:pm on Saturday after attending a Harley Davidson event. The service was extremely slow but we were very patient and understanding due to the event crowd. I went to bar to check on our order and the waitress behind the bar ignored me. Another longtime patron known as Kenny G also noticed but tried to ensure that she would be back. She never did. Shortly thereafter my friend had his drink delivered by the same waitress. My friend told the waitress that she had brought the wrong drink and she became very upset and offensive. My friend tried to say he wasn’t upset but tried to explain how he wanted his drink. The waitress became very rude and the situation escalated with words. The manager came and the waitress stormed behind bar throwing a glass. We thought it was resolved until the waitress started instigating at the far end of the bar with three of her friends. Several of those women tried to instigate a fight with my friends wife. The husband was obviously concerned of the several women hanging up on his wife, so he ran to ensure his wife wasn’t going to be attacked by waitress and her friends. My fiancé and I along with the longtime patron Kent G went to help diffuse the situation. I have never been in a restaurant situation like this, and had the waitress been professional would have never happened. She continued to escalate the situation. My friends were right, in so far as the food was good. Lucky’s need to be more particular on the people they hire to serve their paying and...
Read moreNot friendly from the minute we walked through the door. On 7/5/25 around 12:15 pm we decided to go to Lucky’s Irmo for lunch. We were never greeted once and it wasn’t very busy. We decided to pick a table outside which it was a pleasant temperature. Five mins went by so my husband went inside and got us a menu. Another 10 mins went by and finally a young lady asked what we would like. Both my husband and I wanted a lite lunch so we both ordered the jr burger with cheese. We received our food and it was very good but when given the bill we noticed she charged us for the lil burger, about a $4 difference. When we brought this to the attention of our waitress she immediately blamed us and got very defensive. Told us we needed to order properly next time and we needed to directly specify a kids meal. “Kids meal” was stated this very loud as if she was wanting to embarrass us. She left and returned with an even worse attitude. First thing she said was,”well how did you want to handle this?” Again telling us we ordered wrong. She then proceeded to tell us “we don’t have to tip her, she didn’t want it”. I was appalled at her behavior. The tip she was going to get was put right back in my wallet. I won’t be coming back if this is how customers...
