Promenade Cafe and Market — Restaurant in Irvine

I recently visited a Promenade Cafe & Market managed by the most incompetent and rude manager (her name is Lis) I have ever encountered. From the moment I walked in, I could tell that this manager had no idea what she was doing. The staff seemed disorganized and unprofessional, and the manager seemed more interested in talking on their phone than helping customers.

When I finally got to the counter to place my order, the manager was extremely dismissive and uninterested in taking my order. They seemed more focused on their own personal conversations than on providing good customer service. I ended up waiting an excessive amount of time for my drink, which was not even made correctly.

The manager also seemed completely disinterested in any kind of feedback or complaints. When I brought up my issues, they simply shrugged and walked away without offering any sort of apology or solution.

Overall, I was extremely disappointed with the service and attitude of this coffee shop's manager. I will never be returning and will be sure to tell others about my terrible experience. I’ve been a resident for three years and have seen Promenade Café go downhill since Aramark took over management a few months ago. The manager is rarely present, and service has noticeably declined. Staff attitudes are poor, especially one rude and inconsiderate Greek woman who acts like she hates being there.

Food quality has dropped while prices have increased by 1.5x, making it hard to justify eating here. What was once a great spot now feels overpriced and unwelcoming.

Karaoke nights are chaotic, with minors running around the bar while staff do nothing. The crowd consists of non-residents, snowflakes, and regulars who loiter without contributing to the business.

I was honestly shocked to see such high reviews for this place. This cafe has the absolute worst staff I’ve ever seen. For the price you pay to live in these apartments you would think the cafe would be high quality but it just isn’t. Every time I’ve gone they have either gotten my order wrong or they were out of food. We can’t even use the self checkout because none of the items are in the system. You can tell immediately how disorganized it is just from walking in. The biggest issue however is the staff. The ladies at the cashier always have the worst attitude and seem to be more focused on having conversations.
