Waited long and hard whether to post this review, but I suppose its been a long time coming. Purchased an entire Mondiana bed set with the night stands and the dresser. Approximately 5k in money spent here. Additionally, my family has purchased north of 20k here dating back many years.
When the bed came the delivery workers set the headboard flat on the ground , comprised of two separate pieces for assembly, and began walking all over it with their boots like it was a platform! I couldn't believe what I was seeing and how my brand new furniture was being treated by the delivery team. The headboard now is very loose as installed on the bed and wobbles back and forth aggressively. We have this same bed in another property and it does not have this behavior. I am convinced this was caused by the delivery team walking all over it during assembly with no care whatsoever.
Additionally, the slatted frame that the bed came with had aggressively sprung slats that were causing massive issues. The issues were that I was not able to place any bunkie boards in order to close the gaps between the slats in order to preserve my mattress warranty. Because the slats were so abnormally sprung, the boards would only be suspended in the middle and would wobble back and forth as a result. When removing the boards and placing my mattress directly on the slatted frame itself, the same issue occurred with the entire mattress wobbling back and forth on top of the sprung slats. Flawed frame design that is of poor quality and will void any mattress warranty.
When calling the store and speaking with the manager by the name of "Steve", I was merely looking for a solution to perhaps obtain a flat slatted frame from them that perhaps would be compatible with the bed I purchased. I was not sure whether one was available, just merely having a discussion and inquiry to report the issues I was having and whether any solution would be possible. Instead of merely just hearing the issues I was having, even if a solution was not possible, the manager Steve began ridiculing me and essentially calling me stupid, by telling me, "Did you even put your mattress on the bed?" "Maybe you should buy a new mattress from us because your mattress is the problem, not the frame." and "I have never heard of anybody having that issue and as a result can't and will not help you with this."
I was appalled with how I was spoken to. I inquired with the store whether there would be anyone else I can speak with regarding my issues and to voice how I was treated as a customer after spending 5k at this store by the manager "Steve". I was merely brushed off and given a contact to email my concerns to. Nobody cared or ever wanted to make it right, nor attend to the appalling treatment I received and I how I was talked to by the manager "Steve".
I had to create a DIY fix by buying an alternative frame that fit into the bed along with a foundation to create a stable base that will support my mattress and warranty. Which of course cost me even more money as a result of their defective frame that they included with my bed purchase.
Will likely never purchase anything here again, nor can I recommend for anyone else to do the same. Literally awful experience to...
Read moreWe purchased a bed set from Scandinavian Designs in Irvine, California and we asked for a brand new bed set. They delivered the bed set for us. We could hear a noise from the frame in the first week. We contacted the store after few months and informed them about the noise. They said we should talk to the warehouse manager. We talked to him and he said he will bring us a new frame and he will charge us the delivary fee. We asked him why we are getting charged the delivary fee as the frame was making noises since the begining. Then he said it's because you got the floor model. We were so shocked and surprised and we told him we didn't buy the floor model. We bought the brand new one and he was keep saiyng that we bought the floor model. He said he can show us in the computer that we bought the floor model, not the brand new one. He showed us in their computer, under our name that was saying floor model. We told him we never wanted to buy the floor model, but we wanted to purchase a brand new one. He said but you got the floor model. He said we can talk to the guys who we purchased the bed set from. We talked to one of the guys and he had a look on the computer. Then he said that they messed up. He said he will let the manager know and the manager will contact us. The manager's name was under our invoice of the bedset too. Anyway, we were so upset, disappointed, angry and frustrated. We were thinking we were lying on a used bed all this time. After talking to the manager so many times, we found out he doesn't want to accept his fault and he wants to hide the truth. We used to love this shop so much but after this we completely lost our trust and we never recommend anybody to buy anything from this shop as you can't trust some people working there. The manager said he will deliver a brand new one and take the old one. But we didn't want that. We asked for another deal and he did it for us but we are just so upset, angry, disappointed and we feel we can't...
Read morePoor customer service
They have really cute stuffs and I does not have a problem with them initially despite their lack of customer service, follow up on pending items and sending me furniture with quality issue & assembled wrong direction.
I made a $9500 purchase beginning of the year. One of the item, which is the Deion Arch Floor Lamp of the fabric fall apart after about 3 months of use. I asked for replacement on June 30, had to follow up myself on Sept 7 of the status because no one from the store call me to follow up, found out they already had the replacement in, I drove there on 9/11 to pick up which took me almost 2 hr round trip for this thing, and 2 weeks after I install it, the fabric piece was loose & fall apart again, same problem.
This time I asked for a refund of the lamp since this is 100% a design flaw and I do not want to waste my time to get another replacement. Store sales said I MUST BRING IT BACK to get my refund even I told them it's a long drive for me and it's not my fault that the lamp is defect, but was told they can't refund me unless I bring it back, saying the manufacturer' warranty does not cover transportation so if I want them to pick up the lamp it will cost $99. Are you kidding me??!! Are you planning to tape the lamp shade back and try to sell it to someone else?
It's sad that they don't care about the customer after they get the money, but in the long run, this is not the way to do business. I was planning to buy again from them but now I will not return after knowing how big of a hassle will be over...
