Sole Toscano Italian Cafe — Restaurant in Irvine

My husband and I stopped in here to order a quick dinner at 5:30 this evening (12/19/24) because we read some good reviews. We were met by two young servers having a private conversation between themselves . One of the girls said “Let me know if you have any questions”. We picked up the menu at the counter and after studying it asked “ What is Pizza Pala. One of the young ladies pointed to the premade pizzas displayed and said “it is over there”dismissively pointing at the pizzas. We took a look at the pizzas on display with signs on them and saw nothing marked pizza pala. I told this rude girl that there was nothing marked pizza pala. She answered me very rudely “ those are all our pizzas”! I ordered pasta while she continued to gab with the other girl. I got so angry at the rudeness of these two girls ( there was no one in the restaurant but us) that I turned to her waved and said “ goodbye”. We walked out. I recommend that these two girls should be trained in customer service or this restaurant will go down with such employees. I certainly will not return no matter how good people think...

10/19 Had a stomach ache. Ordered their tomato sauce spaghetti with meatballs. After a quick bite, I felt the noodles were very raw, in the center of the noodles were still hard and white and uncooked. Meatballs are also very watery. I asked the front staff to help me to double check if the food was still ok to eat, she came back and told me kitchen said it was ok, pretty normal in Italian noodles. but I mean, come on, how are you guys so sure it’s ok? You guys did not even come out and check the food.

I don’t care if your food tastes good or not, but at least it’s 100% ok to eat.

I didn’t ask for a refund, I only asked for a Togo box because I needed to check if the food was good to eat or not.

I also work at the restaurant for more than 15years and know the standard of the food. I asked other people and they all said it’s uncooked.

I don’t want to guess how you guys cook the food, we never know, but based on the way you handled the situation it wasn't very nice. You could kill or harm the people who are high-risk or sensitive with...

I was thoroughly impressed by both the quality and presentation of the dishes here. The tomato-based tagliatelle was robust and well-balanced, with just the right touch of acidity and a generous sprinkle of parmesan to round it out. The creamy pesto fettuccine was equally outstanding — rich, smooth, and aromatic without being overpowering. Both pastas had excellent texture, clearly freshly made.
