This little hideaway feels like an exclusive hamburger club that only you and about 2 dozen stranger-friends know about. The atmosphere is fun, but not overly loud or energetic. I imagine brunches get a bit more exciting, but for our date night after traveling and helping set up our son’s team for Woodbridge, we appreciated the less intense vibes.
The experience started with a wonderful manager who was hands on and assisting the team, but turned to us when we walked in. I didn’t catch their name, but they were kind and cordial and helped us quickly even though the restaurant was slammed.
After being seated, our server greeted us, and let me just say, he was an absolute pleasure and joy to have take care of us. Being a two top, walking in towards the end of the night, obvious newbies to the menu, Nick was nothing but fun, gracious, informative, expedient, and curated a meal from start to finish for us that absolutely melded from first sip to last bite.
Nick also was so proud of the quality of the burgers and ingredients - having worked in hospitality ourselves, his beaming explanations of different drinks and meals was something you would expect from a mixologist or a chef, not your typical front of house staff. He is truly one of the best servers we’ve had.
Not to be outdone, the food and drinks themselves would have been enough to give five stars to this establishment. We had the smash burger and “the cut”. My wife has Celiac and Nick made sure every part of the meal for her was appropriate for being gluten free. And man do these burgers hit! The cut is a 40 dollar burger which sounds crazy, until you bite into it. It’s like a perfectly cooked ribeye on one of the best buns you’ve ever had. And the fries and onion rings? Just get them. They were incredible and I can’t wait to try them in the beef tallow!
The drinks were way beyond expectations, and again Nick provided perfect direction for us. It is so much more than just a burger joint, and I am hesitant to share this gem, but if you are in the area and craving some amazing food and drinks,...
Read moreOk food, about one or two above a fast food joint but with a crazy expensive cost! Service was ok. Reason for a low rating is the servers are more interested in socializing with each other rather than customer service. I could visibly see servers eating food including doughnuts right behind the glass standing around talking. Now the food, I ordered a chicken sandwich when it was brought out I thought I received just the bun! Everything inside was so small I couldn't see it past the bun. And the bun is not that big! The two very thinly sliced pickles were stacked on top of one another. This however this did make one somewhat normal pickle slice. I got the garlic fries, (this is a direct rip off from hopdoddy) but it looked like normal fries with a small spoonful of minced garlic dropped on top. Behind the bar doesn't do much better, it looks like this is also part office with plastic containers holding very random items that are definitely not bar back related including clothing. On one of the display shelves was a industrial plastic kitchen container with a brownish liquid in it and definitely no labels. Not sure what science experiment this was. The wine racks were used as employee lockers, holding water bottles, clothes, and purses. My favorite part was that the staff definitely caters to returning customers... However the customers definitely define and depict the overall bar fly atmosphere. One customer walked in sat down at the bar and immediately hit the bar flat handed several times while shouting by name for the bar tender. My plate bounced! The bartender quickly got his drink! Didn't know I was at a dive bar! A second customer who was not sitting at the bar was having a full conversation across the bar and her table with an employee. This happened several times. Shouting order as people walked past. For the very high price, definitely weird atmosphere and lack of professionalism it's not on my...
Read moreI have been in the shopping plaza many times but this was my first time at The Cut. I ❤️ hamburgers and felt hungry enough for a large juicy burger. I'm always on the lookout for unique and creative variations. I walked in and was greeted when I sat down at the bar area. I decided to try the original hamburger and considered a beer before deciding on a glass of water. RJ was there with a smile. I noticed that on the menu, a particular burger can only be served one way. I respected that knowing that I like my burgers "well done. " I asked for the sweet potato fries and RJ suggested I try their unique sauce. I agreed and had almost forgotten to tell RJ how I like my burger cooked when he asked me. I was happy he asked! After a few minutes they brought out what you see in my pictures. Great presentation, it looks delicious. The bun was soft with toasty edges and the sweet potato fries were similar. I'm not sure if this is the standard or not but they put plenty of sauce to go with the cheese. " If it doesn't get all over the place..." I didn't mind the extra sauce but it's worth noting that it's a large burger and you'll need a napkin. I had taken two bites and was just taking my third when RJ walked up to ask how everything was tasting. I looked down and saw the pink middle of the burger. I was suddenly disappointed. I turned the plate around to show the pink center of a medium-rare burger. He quickly picked up my plate and apologized. He took it to the back area and had them prepare another burger. I sat waiting again feeling a little grossed out but appreciated RJ's quick action. While waiting, I was hoping that the kitchen wouldn't interpret "well done" to be equal to a bit charred or burnt. They didn't!! I got my next plate as I had ordered and finished my burger. I left with a full belly and although I felt like something was missing. I will still recommend and return...
