To say the least this place is similar to an old dinner that is on its last leg and just hasn't had that final straw to put it to rest.
My wife and I went here to test it out after living across the street from this place for ever a year and finally gave it a good old college try. On first walking through the door the first instance of the food was a server walking past us with a plate of chicken and a lot of some sort of sauce leaking off the chicken onto the plate and the serving dish that the waitress was holding. although we did notice that we continued forward onto ordering and sitting down.
At the table my wife had chosen there was 2 flies against the wall of the booth, that was insistent on staying exactly where it was after multiple attempts at shooing it away, clearly showing that we were in their domain. To the right of us was an assortment of boxes across several tables and the use of half the dinning area as a prep station.
My wife's food arrived first, her Tri-tip was room temperature at best and wasn't very tasteful or delicious and arrived far before my own food had arrived, she also had garlic mash potatoes that tasted similar to someone pouring a pound of garlic salt and throwing them in the microwave a few times before serving them to her, the mash potatoes were also cold on arrival. To her description the best part of the meal that she had ordered was the garlic bread sticks which came as a pair (2) bread sticks that were acceptable as a starter but not as apart of the main meal that she had ordered.
I had ordered the pepperoni pizza that arrived about 7 mins after she had started eating. The pizza that I did receive wasn't anything special or really note worthy. After having about half of the pizza I had started to taste something that tasted off and after everything I had experienced at this point I felt as if its a safer call to stop eating. honestly I felt like a better use of my money would of been to just go to MOD Pizza on the other side of the shopping center and I would of gotten a better pizza for cheaper then what I had received at Stone Fire grill.
I am not typically one to right reviews on places especially not to this detail but after the experience I had at this establishment I felt as if it was almost mandatory to inform others on exactly how poor this establishment is and exactly why you should avoid this place more then the...
Read morePetite salad is the size of some regular salads and is splitable. Small feeds 1 adult as an entrée. Medium feeds 2 adults as entrees. Large feeds 3 adults as an entrée, but at that point your basically catering. You’ll scoff at the prices, but the prices are reflective with a 4 pound medium chop salad thinking there is lasagna in it or at least 2 double doubles when you are handed you bag if you order togo.
Stay away from the quinoa, if you wanted your salad with you may as well go to Veggie grill across the street.
First off the parking is suspect for the whole complex and you really don’t know what is the front side or side side. It’s door is street side with ample waiting and registers. Large open kitchen and warm inviting décor. Gets great western exposure in the afternoon. Maybe a little bit buffet ish, but not dated.
Staff is friendly, prompt and thought I can’t name individuals, I’ve got good experiences each time I’ve come here for lunch pick up, lunch or dinner. There can be a rush, but not too bad of a wait. Prices are reasonable as they offer Pat & Oscar-esque food, but at a much higher quality.
Protip: Stimulus Package is the best deal and is not on the menu. $25 feeds for 4, but you get a bit of everything, though split 3 ways is my go to with monster appetites.
Breadsticks are excellent and worth getting over all other sides. Salads are finely chopped so it’s hard to get a ton on your fork. Tri-tip cooked hot and fast, could use more citrus, but better than the bland chicken. Pesto Pasta is ok, light on the oil, parm and slight hint of pine nuts. Ribs don’t’ have that smoke ring, but they are tender. Not overly sauced or sweet. Sauce is pretty neutral. Bottomless drinks are a nice offering. Dressings as a whole are light, but I tend to get the Dijon vinaigrette on everything. Carrot cake is the hidden gem within the hidden gem and the fudge brownies top of everything.
It’s a real value if you know what you like and like to share, better if you sit down versus take to go. It’s a bit of a hidden gem with so many other places like VeggieGrill, Wings, chipotle, California Fish Grill in the area. If Pat & Oscars went upscale and minused the kids (they do have a kids menu, but I don’t see many eating here) or if Applebee’s offered real dishes or if Corner Bakery made entrees or if Urban Plates offered value this...
Read moreI haven't been to Stonefire Grill in years and doubt I'll ever go again after tonight's experience.
FOOD - tastes like it was made in a sterile factor with no love and reheated at the restaurant.
Tritip was cold, garlic mashed potatoes had no garlic and tasted like sour cream, beans tasted like they came out of a can and were drowning in what I can only call paprika water, break sticks were tasteless.
Carrot cake was the only redeeming food item we ordered and thankfully we ate it last.
SERVICE - was lacking and we had to ask for forks as there were none where the utensils and dishes are located. The worst part is they ask for a tip when you order and pay, so you have no way of not leaving a tip. We left a $10 tip on a $50 bill which I wish I could get back.
SETTING - it was a nice evening, so we sat on the patio to enjoy the sunset. At around 8:15, the patio lights came on right above the fan and created a horrible strobe light effect right in our eyes. That's when we decided it was time to leave.
While we're getting up, another couple came out onto the patio, and the wife stopped dead in her tracks and pointed at something on the ground. She turned around to walk out and had her husband go get the manager. The husband and manager came back to the patio where the husband showed the manager where a rat was hidden after it ran underneth the exit door. The manager said they can't make any changes to the bottom of the exit door to prevent rats from entering the patio without the property owners approval as if that makes ok to have rats in the patio.
We will never go to Stonefire...
