If you're looking for authentic Shanghai-style cuisine, Tasty Noodles House is definitely worth a visit. The restaurant has a small and cozy atmosphere, with a street-style feel that adds to the overall experience.
One of the highlights of the menu is the wonton soup, which has a bone broth soup base with white pepper flavoring. The soup is delicious and savory, making it a great option for those who love hot and flavorful soups.
The vegetable chowmein and garlic eggplant without meat are also excellent choices. Both dishes are full of flavor and are cooked to perfection. The vegetables are fresh and perfectly seasoned, making them a great option for vegetarians.
The chive pork dumplings are freshly handmade and are a must-try item on the menu. The pork and chive steamed dumplings are particularly delicious and are sure to satisfy any dumpling lover's cravings.
Overall, Tasty Noodles House is a clean and affordable restaurant that offers authentic Shanghai-style cuisine. The restaurant is frequented by older Asians, which is a testament to its authenticity. Read moreAs a connoisseur of handmade dumplings. I think this is best place for freshly handmade dumplings in Irvine. Their pork and chive steamed dumplings are my favorite. One bite of chive pork dumpling, you will experience heaven, there God will greet you "Ni hao ma? Wo de haizi". (Dip them in vinegar, add a bit of hot sauce if you like) Go there early, during late lunch hours sometimes they run out of stuffing. Grilled pork bun is popular but, I eat them after about three hours to have flavor infuse to all parts of the bun.
Many of the customers are gray-haired and speaks the language of origin of dumplings. That is a good sign. Kitchen staff and wait staff are shouting like they are having arguments but, assure you they are not. 😁😁 That is also a good sign.

Go there during weekdays for a relaxed dining experience, the weekend is busy. Don’t forget to ask for hot tea(free) and enjoy with dumplings, take your...

When I returned to receive my order, the hostess was screaming back into the kitchen at the chef, and I felt completely awkward being there. I felt it was completely inappropriate. But then my order wasn't ready on top of that. I went back outside to wait for an additional 15 minutes, and turns out my order was sitting on the table next to the cash register just waiting.
When I got home, the chicken chow mein tasted adequate, but the chicken was dry. Pork bao on the other hand was pretty good. But I'm sure it would be better more fresh. It's good food, but I feel their interaction with customers needs improvement. I felt, in my opinion, that I was bothering them to order food, and I mostly felt incredibly uncomfortable being in the midst of their yelling and screaming at one another. I don't know if I'll return. I feel I could find better...
