Ambassador Fish and Chicken — Restaurant in Irvington

False Advertisement, Sadly Disappointed

I stay and work in Irvington and have been a customer of Ambassador for the past few years. Oftentimes I use them to cater events or bring chicken wing boxes to parties.

On Saturday August 2, 2020 @ around 5pm. I entered the restaurant looked at the menu on the screen and ordered 30 chicken wings. The price for the 30 wings read 22.99.

The cashier (not sure of his name) brown skinned brother who often wears T-shirts with black empowerment logos, told me that my total was a little over $26.00. Hmmm this confused me because even after mentally adding NJ sales tax I could not conclude how my order should total $26+ dollars. I asked the cashier "what was the unit price of my item before tax". He points to a computer screen and says "$24.99".

I responded "the price on the screen says $22.99". He said "don't go by that its $24.99". I said " According to the BBB (Better business Bureau) Thats false advertisement, the price that is there (pointing to the computer screen) must be honored". The cashier responded "do you want it or not".......Disappointed in being dismissed I said "absolutely not".

Shows up to event...empty handed and hurt by how I was treated by a company that I supported for...

Back then I rated a good rating until I experienced them not using the same packaging which were the aluminum pans. It went to a 0 if I could. Ordered 60 wings for holiday party they put it in a carton just a thin as a cereal box. You could imagine what happened from there. I called to let them know very bad idea using what they are using now not taking in consideration of the hot chicken & moisture. The manager was not trying to give me my money back or what I really asked for to remake my chicken using an aluminum pan. A argument over the phone began, he wanted me to go back & pick up the chicken & bring to him. He was completely unprofessional & dont to respect a woman as well. I cant believe how calm & pleasant I was to him for him to treat me like I wasn't a customer. Irvington nj location. Black guy behind the counter, need course one on one dealing with the public. Call in order, arrived hour later to pick it up. I asked him was my order ready. He gave me attitude. Well what ge fail to realize, i will not give ambassador my money and digest his attitude. So, i left. First of all if he's mgr. He's not following covid 19 restrictions, inside over, over crowded. Today would have been a good day for health department to be open, and walk inside this location. Omg! What a hefty fine ambassador would have recieved, all because of this guy breaking the rules and his smart mouth. Needless to say i went elsewhere and spent my money. I have no plans in future of...
