I recently ordered from this establishment using Uber eats pick-up. I ordered at 12:52 and was told to pick it up at 1:52 (an entire hour). When it got close to the pickup time, they switched the pickup time to 2:22. When I pulled up to the restaurant, I received a notification that my food had been picked up.. Now I'm on high alert, because what?
I walk in to the restaurant and inquire about my order. The cashier asks what did my order consist of? In my mind... I'm wondering why she didn't just ask me the code or name? Anyway, I proceed to tell her. And she looks at me like I have seven heads. Then she just goes "ok" and continues to do what she was doing. About 5 minutes later, she tells me to sit while she prepares my order.... about 30 minutes later she comes out with some food. Mind you, I spent 93.00 on this order, so when I see how little food is coming out, I need answers. I ordered 4 portions of goat, come to find out they charge 8.00 per piece of goat. When I say piece, I mean a literal piece of bone with a bite of meat on it!! No sides, no rice, no vegetable just individual pieces of goat. She proceeds to tell me goat is expensive, I'm a caterer by day, I know how much goat is per lb. In no way did that justify 4 pieces of goat for 8.00 per piece (32.00)! Apparently the handful of food I received was my entire 93.00 order. Flavor wise, the food was OK, customer service was horrible. You would think after waiting 2 hours to receive my order they could have thrown in something as a courtesy but no. She claims she added an extra bite of goat, so 5 pieces for 32.00, laughable. I also ordered 16.00 worth of Turkey wings. They cut the wing in half, and then each piece into 4. So I received 4 pieces of a single turkey wing, not including the drum. This establishment is ridiculous, avoid this place by all means. I think the positive reviews are from relatives, do not visit this restaurant. There are other authentic African restaurants with better food, better portions, and better...
Read moreAs I love 2 support new black owned businesses, the excitement is palpable... the disappointment always come in wen u actually patronize the business. Most of the time customer service is always the down fall.. it took the server over 15 mins to acknowledge me & take my order. Once order was placed, I payed & she gave a wait time of 25 minutes as all meals r prepared to order.. I return 35 mins later & u hear chef Teekay ask wat was my order. The server came back out 2 ask take my order again. Like wait wat. So all this time I've been waiting my food wasn't not being made 😡. Chef Teekay came out & apologized asking to give her 10 mins. Which turned into another 30 mins. It took over an hr to get my food. Lawd knows if I hadn't prepaid my $75 order I would've left. Mean while others r walking n & picking up their orders wit no problem.. smh Food was good but definitely not worth the disrespect nor wait! I ordered: egusi soup with chicken laps (delicious but not enuff egusi, I had more chicken then anything else) Fried salmon, jollof rice & seafood salad (salmon delicious, jollof was waayyy too smokey & tasted off, seafood salad was more like mayo salad used waayy to much mayo) Chicken Shawarma (flavors were good, but it definitely wasn't shawarma, it was loaded with coleslaw).. & didn't have a bit of middle eastern or shawarma flavor. I assume cuz she used shawarma wrap she named...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of having Chefteekay cater my daughter’s fourth birthday party at an indoor playground, and it was an absolute hit! We ordered a tray of jollof rice with peppered chicken, along with the jumbo finger foods pack, which included samosas, spring rolls, goat, wings, and puff puff (something like a Nigerian donut).
We had a diverse group of guests (Europeans, Caribbeans, Americans, Africans, etc.), and I was a bit nervous about how the food would be received but I knew I wanted ethnic food as a treat. Chefteekay truly exceeded my expectations! Everyone, without exception, raved about the food and asked where they could order it themselves. The dishes were flavorful, beautifully prepared, and there was something for everyone to enjoy.
The parents especially appreciated having more than just the typical kids’ party pizza, which was exactly what I was aiming for. Chefteekay, thank you for giving our esteemed guests a wonderful meal and for being so kind and gracious throughout the process. I can’t wait to use your services at least two more times this year. I truly hope your business continues to thrive for many...
