El Carretón del Taco — Restaurant in Isabela

This was my first time stopping at this food truck, and I was very excited to try new Mexican food in the area. As someone that has traveled to Mexico numerous times, dined at fine Mexican restaurants around the world, and enjoyed good Mexican street food, I saw that El Carretón had good reviews and was hoping to satisfy my craving.

I ordered a barbacoa burrito and an elote. The burrito was a good size, with a side of nachos and picadillo. The presentation was okay. I ordered to dine in but they gave me my order packaged to go. The nachos were a bit stale, but the shredded beef was cooked well with decent flavoring. Overall the food was mediocre, not the best Mexican food I’ve had but not the worst. There was a substantial amount of food and it was filling. I was grateful for the sauce and side of guacamole. The elote on the other hand was corn in plastic Tupperware, overfilled with mozzarella cheese, and lacked tajin in my opinion. I do not recommend unless that is your style of elote.

The service provided by a middle aged man, unfortunately was not up to par. He was repugnantly arrogant, and made little to no eye contact as I placed my order even though no other customers were waiting for food or waiting to order at the time. The employee or owner could have been having a bad day, I don’t know, but when it comes to customers, to my understanding, they ought to be treated with kindness, patience and compassion so that you can have a returning client or at least a client that spreads a good word for your business. I was saddened by the customer service, because if it would have been better, I more than likely would have stopped again to try other items on the menu. I, regretfully, will not be giving this food truck...

Worst food I've ever eaten. I was extremely hungry but only ate this garbage to honor the cow that died so we can be nourished. Nothing redeemable. Steak in Tacos was over cooked rubber. Burnt burrito with chunks of foil stuck inside the tortilla. Cheap ingredients poor presentation. Flavorless green salsa the red was slightly better but mostly hot overpowering any flavor. Over priced long wait. Unnecessary loud music so you can't hear the person next to you speak. Do your self a favor and cook at Home. Waste of Money and a stomach ache....

I've been wanting to try this place for years. Finally tried it got the box with all the stuff I'd say quesadillas were #1 the nachos #2 then tacos then burrito. It was very good food and very good customer service....
