BREAKFAST SANDWICHES SO GOOD WE CRIED IN THE PARKING LOT
Let me start by saying—we did not expect to have a life-changing experience at a gas station. We pulled in for gas. Gas. That’s all we wanted. Maybe a Gatorade. Next thing you know, we’re holding the Mona Lisa of breakfast sandwiches and making uncomfortably long eye contact with the cashier because we didn’t have the words to say “thank you” properly.
It was emotional. I ate one bite and just whispered “oh no” because I knew… I was going to need seven more. This wasn’t a sandwich. This was an edible masterpiece, a warm, flaky croissant cradle for sausage, egg, and cheese that held me tighter than my father ever did.
Yes—these breakfast sandwiches are what I imagine angels eat after a long shift. They’re buttery, melty, and borderline illegal in at least three countries due to their sheer deliciousness. The croissant? So flaky it made me question every croissant I’ve ever had. The bacon? Crispy, smoky, and cooked with love. I don’t know who’s back there on the griddle, but I want to follow them on LinkedIn.
And the staff? Are you kidding me? It was like walking into the Cheers bar but at a gas station and everyone’s caffeinated and nobody’s judging you for buying six sandwiches at 8 a.m. One employee saw me eyeing the hot food counter and just nodded like, “Yeah. You know what’s about to happen.” It felt like a moment out of a movie.
We filled up our tank, our souls, and our stomachs. I almost left a tip in the gas pump. That’s how confused and delighted I was. The bathrooms were so clean I did jumping jacks in there. I wanted to move in.
Final thoughts: If you don’t stop here for a sandwich, you’re doing life wrong. These folks deserve a James Beard Award, a Nobel Peace Prize, and maybe a Netflix docuseries.
So yeah. Five stars. Would eat again. Did eat again. And again. We’re probably going back tomorrow. Bring napkins. Bring emotions. Bring your taste buds.
And maybe a change of pants....
Read moreWe pulled in Fast & Good for gas and saw breakfast burritos on the sign. When we went in there weren’t any left - they had corn dogs, hamburgers, cheesesteaks, corn dogs - everything but our burritos! When I asked the kind woman behind the counter about them she immediately said “I can have those for you in ten minutes!” and quickly got to work. Five minutes later, she handed us two hot breakfast burritos. We really appreciated her hospitality, speediness, and willingness to deliver on what we wanted. The owner, David, was behind the register and said hello and introduced himself. They were both very friendly and accommodating. I’d recommend stopping here for food, gas, and literally anything else you could possibly need since they’re also a...
