Handel's Ice Cream Canton Ohio — Restaurant in Jackson Township

I am very disappointed. I went to the canton location with my kids. In the beginning when having my order taken the lady was very rude, so I asked if she was the only one in there and she said yeah sense morning so I totally understood the frustration off the batt. Well anyways I order a chocolate peanut butter ice cream cone. Once I received it, I go sit down and get my kiddos settled. I take three licks and realize it’s dark chocolate. I absolutely hate dark chocolate. I go back up to the window and I asked if there’s any possible way I could switch it out I barely touched it I didn’t realize it was dark chocolate because that’s not what it said on the menu. She got very upset and told me that it’s policy. I have no choice but to repay if I want something else and it took my breath away. I was like it didn’t even say on the menu what type of chocolate it was she’s like well this is the way our handles is Ron chocoholic means dark chocolate. I let her know she was being rude, and she just started laughing at me and was like because I’m going to make you repay if you want some thing else so I asked her name and she felt the need to nail down and start laughing and so proudly, keep repeating Alexisas. I honestly got in my car crying because it’s clearly expensive and I wasn’t even going to get myself something. Then I decided and I had no idea it was dark chocolate. I called a different handles and they said they would’ve had no problems switching me out which hurt my feelings...

One of the things I like best about Handel's is the number of flavors plus other frozen treats they have. I was there today and ordered a Hurricane,(their version of the Blizzard by Dairy Queen), with vanilla ice cream and Oreo cookie. DELICIOUS!! My other go to favorite ice cream is strawberry cheesecake. It's not strawberry flavored ice cream, it's homemade with pieces of real strawberries and chunks of cheesecake and a gramcraker swirl. Tastes so good. Their ice cream flavors stay the same but others are added with the seasons, Handel's is also open year round!! Stop by sometime, try something different and don't forget to tip the girls or guys at the window. They're so busy but they're quick and serve you...

We order your ices because they are dairy free. Tonight we ordered our usual the Blue Moon Ice, took a big bite and realized immediately they gave us ice cream and not Blue Moon Ice. My husband took it back and told them they made a mistake.

The girl said, “oh, we discontinued Blue Moon ice.”

So, instead of saying we discontinued it and we don’t have that flavor they served a completely different product with the only common denominator was that it’s blue. Never mind that it has dairy in it. What if we were allergic to dairy?
