Muggswigz Coffee & Tea — Restaurant in Jackson Township

Absolutely fabulous coffee shop! It was my first time at Muggswigz and the staff was very friendly and helpful when I was asking about recommendations. I ended up getting the "Fuzzy-Wig". While the design they put on it was absolutely fantastic, the taste of the drink was even better. The price on a drink like the Fuzzy-Wig is what I would have expected. High enough that I won't get it all the time. But the majority of their drinks seemed to be priced about average or lower then I would have expected. The environment was basically what you would expect in a coffee shop. Clean, trendy and coffee themed. But the entire coffee shop is basically a large room with tables relatively close to each other, with no real dividers whatsoever. So it almost feels like you are there with everyone else in the coffee shop. The upside to this is everyone in the coffee shop seemed very nice. Went to the Fulton location on a date with the wife. Wanted to get some coffee and hang out on the couch for awhile. As soon as we walked in I noticed that it was quite cold inside. While we ordered (a drink which was denied because the young kid behind the counter offhandedly said they were out of the ingredients) I looked at the thermostat and it was set to 65 degrees! It was around 40 degrees outside. So I asked the kid if he could turn up the heat since 65 degrees is not a temperature conducive to relaxing and having a coffee. The kid said offhandedly again “I can’t turn up the heat at this time”. He didn’t give a reason or apologize or try to provide any kind of empathetic response. Just “not at this time”. 65 degrees? Seriously? I don’t know if they are going out of business or not but there was no one there on a Friday evening. I am not surprised. Skip this place. There are plenty of better places to get coffee...

I’m a regular at this Muggswigz location, and the coffee is hands down the best in the area. The staff and people are personable, and I find it to be a great environment to get my work done. If anything could be improved, it would be the music. They play a lot of bizarre world music. Personally, I spend a lot of time here and wish they’d play some indie coffee shop music or some more common, recognizable songs. At times the music is so bad that it becomes a distraction from my work. Please consider changing the music. This location has been making some great changes lately and dropping the world music craziness would go a long way to make this place even better.
