I normally don't leave reviews but I felt that I had to this time because this visit was one of the worse that I've experienced. The food is good however but the customer service is horrible. I live in Atlanta. I visit this restaurant every time I come home to visit. I always order enough to take back home with me.
The workers are very rude and disrespectful to the customers. Several people canceled their orders because the workers were cursing out customers when they asked about orders. I along with other customers waited 45 minutes for orders while new customers came in to place orders and were given their orders while we were still waiting on our orders.
People started complaining because we had been waiting so long while others that came in after us. The male worker behind the counter told several people that he wasn't the cook and they could either wait or they could cancel their orders and go to the other location if they wanted.
The male that was bagging the orders and the female cook were both laughing and cursing because people were complaining. His excuse was that he dropped a ticket behind the stove and he wasn't going behind the hot stove to get it. He never mentioned that he dropped the ticket of the customers that had been waiting The female cook stated hat she didn't care and would send the food out raw if they wanted it that bad and the ones that had been waiting would have to go to the end of the line.
This is no way that they should be treating or talking to customers that are patronizing the business. I can guarantee that they lost at least a couple hundred dollars from people canceling orders and walking out. You may also want to consider offering customer service training to the workers because that was completely unacceptable.
Please reconsider reopening a location in Atlanta. I pray that the customer service is betterat the Farish Street...
Read moreIf you live in MS and never heard of this Southern staple, you're not a true Jacksonian. Southern transplants and travelers passing thru, have probably heard of Big Apple Inn. It's definitely a hidden gem with so much history, culture, but most importantly, you can see Jackson thru the smiles of the people cooking up your food.
I've heard of this place from locals, the food channel and on multiple social outlets, but I've never had a chance to go. Finally, I was able to make my way and boy was I upset...Upset that I haven't gone sooner. I called in my order 15 minutes beforehand. Two smokes (red sausage), hot (spicy level), with slaw. Two ears (pigs ears), hot, with slaw. You can also get it with no spicy to very spicy and without slaw.
When I got inside, I was quickly greeted by the two sweet ladies at the counter. My little bag of happiness was awaiting for my arrival, you can see the grease seeping through, just enough to say hello haha She quickly rung me up, $6 for 4 sandwiches?! Winner, winner! Piglet dinner!
I couldn't wait to dig into the ears. It was cooked down so well, it literally melted in my mouth. I love the texture, it was gelatinous, but had a nice little chew from the cartilage, the slaw added a nice crunch. The smokes were also great, I highly recommend getting it with slaw to add some texture. The sandwiches were so soft, I ate it in a few bites. Don't let their size fool you though, it's quite filling without giving you that I need a nap feeling. Call me crazy, but I had it room temperature a few hours later and I felt it tasted even better than it was fresh off the griddle! I think I need a few more of those...
Read moreOn July 23rd my sister and I decided to stop by Big Apple Inn on state street. It was around 5:30pm. It was a man and a lady with a short hairstyle working I immediately recognized her because she’s been working there for a really long time she was so rude. There is no excuse to make someone feel unwelcome while spending their money. My sister ordered 12 sandwiches I ordered 15. My grandma called found out we was there and wanted to order 4 she told the man why she just didn’t order them when she ordered the rest. My sister responded and said that’s okay, because what you are saying is uncalled for this lady repeated it again and said “I’m just saying why you didn’t order it in the first place. When she clearly see my sister on the phone getting another order and Why does that matter when we’re wanting to spend more money you’re mad when it’s your Job to wait on us. We simply wanted sandwiches nothing above and beyond. It’s disappointing to know she’s allowed to work in there treating customers that way. The guy was very nice I want to make it known, because he begged us not to do a review, but I feel like the owner need to know this and hold his employee...
