Dairy Queen Grill & Chill — Restaurant in Jackson

If you live in the Jackson area and enjoy blizzards, hurry up and get to this Dairy Queen because it will be closed soon. The service here is awful!! Well, let me clarify, the Adults have poor service, the part time kids are nice. When I walked in there with my children the first thing we overheard were the adults complaining about the lack of customers and asking each other where the lunch rush was. Not long after that I could tell why there were no customers in there! Don’t ask to substitute anything either, if the owner is in there he will bark out no or whatever he was barking from the dining room as he was eating! I was willing to pay the difference or whatever needed to be done but absolutely No! Whew. Then right after our fiasco, the lady behind us came in to pick up her cake, which they didn’t have. We went to eat at Dairy Queen tonight but never got our food because they were completely overwhelmed by an unexpected surge of orders so we waited almost an hour then canceled our order and went elsewhere. It wasn't their fault and all the workers handled a stressful, tense situation with extreme tact and skill. Everyone who was working the dinner shift on Oct 7, 2024 should be commended. They were working hard and dealing with a crowd of hangry customers like real pros.

I do have one negative comment I'd like to make, which I hope management will hear me out on. The sign bribing customers to give 5-star reviews in exchange for free soda is a really bad look and unfair to prospective customers by artificially inflating ratings and masking real areas of improvement. Offer soda in exchange for an honest review no matter the rating, but don't bribe us to give a better rating than you deserve. If you're worth 5 stars...

This location has had issues for a while as far as lack of speed and multiple errors. Today through the drive thru I ordered a cheeseburger with onion, pickle, lettuce, and mayo, a small rootbeer and onion rings. Got the food I get fries instead of rings and a cheeseburger with pickle, ketchup, and mustard. Irritated I get out of the car to get the correct food. They took my wrong food back and I saw them put back to be served again which is a BIG no no. After that I doubt I'll come back to this location if that's the business practices being allowed by whoever is in charge.
