This is an in depth review. It started with a gaggle of guys outside with heavy smell of weed, I was even approached and asked if I wanted to buy some. I declined. They had music blasting at 10:30pm to āwelcomeā everyone to the parking lot. There were no other rooms available in town so I entered a hot unventilated lobby to ācheck it outā. Encountered a young girl there complaining her air conditioner was not working. The frazzled older lady behind the desk finally found her a room to move into and repeatedly reminded her she would have to check her room and make sure she had left it ok. I hesitantly asked to look at the room offered me before accepting it. I was given a key and went to find a hot, musty moldy smelling room with one light that was very dim. I saw one baby roach crawling in the bathtub but against all better judgement decided to stay. We locked EVERYTHING down in our truck and parked in front under a light not knowing what might be left in the morning. I asked for fresh sheets but the lady at the counter said they lock them up because people steal them and she went on to say they are having problems with theft of lightbulbs, remote controls, and toilet paper. So I removed the bedspread and pillows, shook out the sheets to remove potential bugs and trash and simply laid our own blankets over the top. Thankfully I always carry my own blankets and pillows. Our suitcases were opened and clothing removed before quickly zipping them up to ward off any āvisitorsā taking up residence in our luggage. All items were set on hard surfaces for similar concerns. After a quick shower with plenty of hot water I sank into a well used mattress and closed my mind to my surroundings. The air conditioner did blow cold although musty moldy smelling air. Believe it or not I slept fabulously. After waking I pulled the curtains to allow sunlight in, pulled back the sheets and discovered I had slept on top of a mattress with dark dried red stains, presumably blood, many obvious pubic hairs, and trash. There were many stains and dirt on the sides of the broken down mattress as well as the chair and couch. The table in the room had thick clumps of dried unidentifiable material all over it. We showered again and went to check out the āhot breakfastā that was advertised. By this time my husband and I had managed to turn our disgust and horror into a joke that would be a never forgotten memory!lol. We walked down a corridor and ran into extremely interesting and colorful people I rarely ever see off of a television screen. I was really surprised that every single encounter I had with these numerous individuals found them polite and courteous. Noticed the same frazzled old woman at the desk at 8:30am. We walked though a lobby with old broken office furniture labeled with signs that said āFreeā and entered the breakfast area. No chairs or tables to be seen. What was there was 8 packages of individual instant oatmeal, 4 rather sad looking biscuits, a container of crumbling chocolate donuts, half gallon 2% milk, few slices of bread, and some plastic containers with bulk cereal. These were all laid out on a counter that also held several roach bait stations. We opted for instant oatmeal and went on. What an experience. And since they honored them coupon in the brochure I picked up it only cost me $43. Cheapest (paid for memory) of our adventures in Tennessee. The positives were hot water and cheap entertainment!!lol. IF you have no other options and sleeping in your vehicle isnāt possible, I suggest taking as little as possible inside and open your mind for a unforgettable experience. We survived and all of our belongings were still there in the morning. I have not noticed any itching sensations so donāt think I picked up any āguestsā to bring home. Since that was our last stop before home itās easy enough to wash the blankets and clothing as they are brought into our...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreFirst off, I want to compliment the staff. Every single one, from front desk to cleaning service people, were all extremely nice and helpful! Now to the rest. While the room itself is large enough and laid out fairly well, it is not in the best condition even though we were told that it was redone recently. It seemed like there are people that are regularly living in this hotel that do not take care of the rooms very well. Maintenance is not done well. To get hot water in the shower, you would turn it to the C (for cold) and for cold water, you turned it to the H (for hot). I don't know how that happens except if the valves were put in backwards or something. The shower curtain rod was put in upside down so the little bumps that would hold the shower curtain were on the bottom and the curtain kept going to the middle of the curved rod while taking a shower. The vanity had a slow leak underneath. Our desk did not have a chair (I did ask the housekeeper and she got us one) and the room did not have a microwave, which we expected. This was about as bare boned as you can get. There was no channel line up list, no telephone, no clock, etc... You get a bar of soap in the bathroom, an ice bucket and there was a mini fridge. I'm glad I always take my own coffee pot when we travel. There was no breakfast provided. While the sheets seemed clean, the bedspread had been stained - not fresh stains but like they wouldn't come out. The bathroom seemed clean but the rest of the room was not all that clean. The desk and other surfaces were sticky and you could see where something had been spilled and splattered and not cleaned well. Our floor was sticky, too. There was clothing left in a drawer and in between the furniture from a previous person. The air conditioner and heater worked well. I saw one live roach and one that was dead. The ice machine on the first floor did not work and we had to go to the hotel that is connected to get ice. On the last night I was there, another guest told me that there was an ice machine on the 3rd floor that worked. In the 3 nights we were there and the front desk person seeing me going to the other hotel to get ice, they never told me that the 3rd floor had an ice machine that worked. This is not the worst hotel I've stayed in but it probably comes in second. They really need to do some basic work to get this up where it needs to be. The great staff here deserve a lot better because they were the best thing...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy husband and I are truck drivers. We were looking forward to a restful night between runs and a hot shower. NOT at this motel!
It took at least 5 minutes to get someone to come to the desk to check in; only to find that he was on his phone ( Facebook or something was more important). No trash can at all in the room. Not even in the bathroom. (We bring our own coffee pot because COVID has kept motels from providing for their guests ). Lucky I had a spare plastic bag to throw out coffee filter, etc. I guess I could have thrown it in the sink or on the floor. It would have gone well with smears of goodness knows what was on the walls. Pillows were the size of 2 large cotton balls and bed was uncomfortable. Tried to watch a baseball gameā¦reception gave me a headache. Woke up at 3:30 am to soak my sore muscles, Ran water for over 15 minutes - NO HOT water. There were no cups or bucket for ice.
We checked out early this morning, to GET OUT of there. When asked how our stay was, I told her of our experience as politely as I could, while sharing my displeasure. Her bored tone response: āIām so sorry that happened.ā
This was the absolute WORST Motel 6 weāve ever stayed at. Weāve stayed at cheap motels better than this. That $67 should have been $17 or less. Camping in a tent is better.
Donāt waste your money like we did. I would have given zero stars if able.
Update: First of all, I want to thank the owner, David Claybrook for refunding our stay. Mr. Claybrook called me within 8 hours of our stay to personally apologize. In fact, he called me three consecutive times before I answered the phone and he didnāt give up until I answered.
I was told: the room we had stayed in was taken out of service until the issues could be fixed; the employees would receive additional training; the hotel was about to go through a complete renovation; and that as soon as he got into the office the next day, he would refund my stay.
I would like to apologize for not updating my comments before now, but I wanted to make sure that he was a man of his word. This morning, the funds were returned to our account - just as he said.
My husband and I will be happy to give this hotel another chance in a few months.
Thank you Mr. Claybrook, for your humanism and professionalism. We appreciate the true customer service that you have shown and look forward to having a completely different experience in the...
