Let me start by saying I love food and have been all over the world, literally. I also cooked food for some well-known people. 1. I did try to contact them on reservations via Facebook messenger, and I didn't get ahold of anyone. They saw the message but never responded. I tried to call and reserve a table for later but couldn't secure a "special table" soon enough. 2. The location was the restaurant was quick to be found and in a high-traffic area. 3. The ambiance was terrific, and I felt I was back in Italy, in some restaurant areas. 4. The timeliness of when the food was dispersed was on point; It gave us time to enjoy other things, conversations, and other food items. 5. The service was phenomenal!! He checked on us continuously, and he was very polite. 6. I was expecting my food to be cooked at a better temperature; it seemed they cooked it on extremely high heat because the chicken marsala; the chicken was challenging to eat due to it being leathery. The noodles were highly oily from the sauce. I understand oil comes from cooking the chicken and then just adding ingredients to the oil in the pan, blah blah, but it was more than usual, which made it very difficult to eat the noodles. The noodles were dry noodles cooked al denta but chewier than ordinary. - The wife wasn't too fond of her duck pasta. She did explain why, but I am sharing my experience from the horse's mouth, as they say. Similarity Opinion - I was going to give it one star, but the service was superb. The meal closely resembled a place that I regularly ate at a while in the service, and NO, it wasn't the airforce.

We went yesterday for dinner around 7pm we were seated and someone finally came over to take our drink order. Let me start by saying the place itself was nice the atmosphere and vibe was very stiff and honestly like the hostess and staff were better than us is the vibe we got. As a business owner myself I couldn’t imagine making a customer feel like they aren’t worthy to be there but we all definitely felt like that. We waited a while for appetizers as all the other tables around us were getting food and getting drinks in a timely manner. Our hostess seemed bothered by us being there and she made sure not to be at our table much. When she brought the appetizer once she remembered, it was ok there was a big piece of steak meat in mines which I didn’t eat. Then when our food came out the waiter somehow didn’t see the tall glass of alcohol and dropped it and broke it and got quite a bit of the alcohol on my friend clothes and it was broken glass all on the floor and around his seat. To say he was pissed was an understatement especially since he already felt uneasy there from the vibe of the staff. They keep apologizing but the damage was done from our initial arrival and walking in. It’s definitely not minority friendly as one of the white guest said when we walked in that my friend heard him say “more and more of them are coming here now”. As a business owner myself I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant to family, friends, or clients. It’s time to humble yourselves and treat everyone equally. I’ll gladly take my money elsewhere. We definitely will never be back to this place.

We arrived at 8pm and were able to walk right in and be seated without any wait. We chose to go sit on the patio. (It is rare that the weather in the south permits this.) The service started out slow. The waitress brought us a bottle of water, but no glasses to use. We had to ask for glasses. This is a place for sitting and enjoying a long night. I ordered the filet mignon 10 oz steak with fries and a Ceasars salad. The steak was very good. But nothing set it apart from what I have eaten at places like Outback. The fries were average at best. Given the prices I would expect something that would set it apart from your average McDonald's fries. Pretty much the same quality as McDonald's on the fries. The salad was fresh and crisp. Presentation of everything was good as well. I've traveled the world and my wife is from Kaliningrad, Russia. She recently lived in Rome, Italy while getting her masters. She loved the atmosphere and said it reminded her of the nice restaurants in Italy. So 5 stars on atmosphere. Late in the evening the mosquitoes came out while we were on the patio. The patio is nice, but in the South, be prepared to battle mosquitoes when the sun starts to go down. Overall it was an enjoyable evening. Given the lack of good quality restaurants in West Tennessee, I would recommend this place. No place is perfect, so there are places where they can improve. 1. Overall service-good 2. Quality of food-good 3. Atmosphere-great 4. Presentation-good

Flatiron Grille VERY disappointed in the treatment we received this evening. I took my husband out for his birthday. We were told there would be a short wait, 45 minutes but probably not that long. We decided to wait. Then a couple walked in, clearly with no reservation and they were sat before us. To give the benefit doubt, I asked the hostess. She said they had a reservation but I could tell she was fumbling to cover that they didn't. I sat back down to wait. She then spoke with a gentleman who appeared the be the owner or manager. Then she told the woman who appeared to be the owner or manager. BAMMMM our table is ready. Hmmm funny how that worked out. Dustin was our waiter. Everything was going great until I noticed him at the hostess stand. Both he and the hostess were talking, I can't say about what, but their eyes were focused on us the entire conversation. He actually passed our table and we were clearly finished eating, but he didnt stop. No big deal, he probably had something he needed to do, but suddenly Dustin was no where to be found. We sat, and sat, and sat until he finally showed up. I told him I thought he had left for the night since it had been so long since we had seen him. At least 15 minutes had gone by since he passed our table and looked, which anyone could tell we were clearly done eating. I was being very patient, which is rare for me, but what really burned me is that my husband said, "do you think we are being discriminated against because we're together (meaning together as a couple)". IT IS HIS BIRTHDAY! I did not take him out so he could be made to feel the way your place of business made him feel tonight. I NEVER play the gay card because I am a firm believer that if there is an issue with us, that issue is on the other persons end not ours. I don't expect to be treated better but I certainly don't expect to be treated less than any other guest at your establishment. We recently moved here and have been at your place 1 other time and loved it which is why I took him there for his birthday. He had every intention of getting dessert but was so disgusted he said he'd rather leave and get ice cream. What's really sad is your establishment is not cheap and I feel we could've had a much more pleasant experience at a fast food place and saved ourselves $100. Hats off to the chef as we both enjoyed our meals.

Edit from last night: after sleeping on it. I am not saying they were discriminating against us or that they were talking about us. These are simply our feelings and how it appeared. There are always 2...

We went to Flatiron Grill on a early Friday evening at about 4:30. The restaurant was completely set for dinner, everything was perfectly set, the Restaurant was clean and very organized. The Temperature was just right and the music level was nice.

There were four of us. For Appetizer's we had 2 orders of the Bang Bang Shrimp, and they were fantastic spicy but not hot pepper spicy and the shrimp were huge. For entrées we ordered The burger with fresh cut shoestring fries, the Grilled Caesar Salad 10oz Filet Medium with Parisian Risotto, the Grilled Caesar Salad and Fajita Quesadilla, The Wedge Salad and the Chicken Marsala. The young man that had the Burger demolished it and said it was the best he has every had. Both folks that had the Grilled Caesar said it was great and they really liked the smokey flavor. The Quesadilla was nice with lots of cheese and beef but we forgot to have the mushroom taken off. The Filet arrived almost rare but it was quickly corrected. the meat was perfect very tender and a great flavor, the risotto was delicious but a bit dry. My wedge Salad was great the Maytag bleu cheese crumbles, chopped tomatoes, applewood ,smoked bacon, topped with bleu cheese dressing. The Chicken Marsala was okay, the marsala sauce was to thin to stick to the noodles it just needed a bit more heavy cream but all the flavors were there. We had a margarita and a few glasses of wine, my favorite red was the Unshackled Cab and it was dust in a bottle Perfect. The service was very good I believe her name was Riley

We can not wait to return to try more of the Menu. I highly recommend this Restaurant. Yes it is a bit pricey but well...

We were a party of four at FG in Jackson to celebrate a birthday. As others have commented, Jessica was a fantastic server. Three of us ordered steaks, two filets and a ribeye. Two were ordered cooked medium rare and the third was ordered medium. All three steaks were delivered extremely under cooked to the point of being raw and cold inside. We sent one filet back to be cooked more and it still came back very under cooked. It was as if the cook timed the steaks without knowing the grill was not hot and instead of checking, he sent them out raw.

Although it was a Saturday night, the restaurant never exceeded about half capacity so being busy wasn't the issue. And we don't mind a restaurant having an off night. However, Flatiron Grille is charging prices for non-prime grade steaks that are about the same prices as prime-grade steak houses like Ruth's Chris and Mortons. For the prices FG charges, their execution should be perfect. In the end, Jessica didn't charge us for the one filet, which was the right thing to do.

A couple nitpicky side notes: First, the restaurant is way too dimly lit. Second, the restaurant menu prices are a few bucks higher than their website menu prices. Third, vinyl table clothes?

It seems FG is trying to portray an image of a high end steak house with their pricing but can't figure out the execution part of it. Lastly, in reading other Google reviews, I've noticed that the owner only responds to the five star reviews. There is not a single owner response to any one star review that I could find. That tells me where the issue is with...
