Waffle House — Restaurant in Jackson

My husband and I have always stopped at Waffle House for breakfast when we are traveling and have always had good service and food. This is the first time we stopped at this particular Waffle House and will not go to this one again. We sat down and did not get waited on for over 5 minutes, usually someone says good morning and either to have a seat here or sit where we like, nothing was said to us. Except a person sitting at the bar behind us kept telling us to get it and go (kept repeating this). We were just about to leave when a server who passed by us several times finally stopped and asked what we wanted. We ordered our food to go and it took an unusually long time and the server also shorted our change by $20.00. We pointed it out to her and she corrected it, but she knew we gave her a $50 and even showed it to another person working there and they joked about it I have never had service like this in any other Waffle House and I did not feel safe in this one even with the security person on site. We were there around 3:30am on Sunday, July 26 (this morning) due to being off our schedule and had been on the road for 12 hours already and still had another 6 hours to our destination. This was one of the worst experiences I'v had at any Waffle House. When we first got in, my girlfriend an I sat were ready to order but were ignored. We had to wait awhile for our waitress to come. Afterwards we ordered our drinks and proceeded to order food but she walked off. She came back after nearly 5 minutes an took our order. I ordered coffee. I got a cup of luke-warm coffee. She forgot the creamer. She did, however, top it off with warm coffee after awhile. The food less than adequate as far as taste goes. The 2 strips of my bacon weren't fully cooked. With my order I had a chocolate chip waffle. Which ended up being the waffle with a few chocolate chips on it. I wanted cheese on my eggs. What did I get?A slice of CUT UP American cheese. It wasn't even fully melted. Oh and the hash-browns too, barely even cooked let alone brown. Eventually we ate and were ready to pay. I literally waited near the register nearly 5 minutes and was ignored by 2 waiters who weren't even busy. Our waitress eventually rang me up but she should have in the first place. The only thing she was doing is on her phone and playing with her nails. This was the first time coming here since before the remodel. I AM NEVER COMING BACK HERE AGAIN. I'm a long time customer and I always tip and usually very happy with the food and service. However when I entered the store this morning I was treated like my business wasn't wanted. I stood there for 10 minutes and nobody spoke or even acknowledged my presence. I was alone so instead of taking up a booth I finally sat at the low counter. It was cluttered with dirty towels in two buckets, servers personal belongings, and sticky swirl marks where the counter wasn't cleaned very well. When a server actually did speak she asked had anybody helped me and what did I want. I said for starters I'd like the mess in front of me to be cleaned up before I eat there. Is that an unfair request? Her and another server seemed to think it was because instead of cleaning it up they told me that I shouldn't sit there. My opinion is that it shouldn't have been that dirty to begin with weather they wanted anybody to sit there or not. It wasn't marked as a closed section. Needless to say I just left and went to IHOP and they acted like they wanted my business. I'll miss you waffle house but I will...
