Decided to give this place a try. On first impressions it has a sad interior. Definitely not a place you take anyone to impress them. Saw that they now offer a Chinese menu. Ordered from the lunch menu. Me: chicken Katsu, friend: hibachi steak. We also ordered hot and sour soup and a garden salad with ginger dressing. And shrimp Gyoza. Soup was hot with heat but other than that wasn’t great. Was just slimy. Garden salad with ginger dressing was delicious! Gyoza was meh. I’m used to pork Gyoza, shrimp wasn’t the best taste. The chicken Katsu was fantastic! The slaw that came with it was tasty too. The Steak hibachi was great. Overall I would come back. I’ll definitely try some rolls next time. Everything was reasonably priced and the service was good too.

No expectations. This is small town Tennessee dining. I'd admit I was just craving some sushi and maybe saki. The place delivered. Did I expect to be mind blown absolutely not, it was as good as what I'd expect. Decent rolls, not necessarily the freshest of ingredients. Presentation is mediocre at its best but I enjoyed myself. It felt rushed because I got in at last minute and they were ready to close yet still got me served. Would I dine here again? I suppose I would. Is it a place to bring a date with you? Nah... No ambience and feels dated. For someone who tasted some of the best sushi in Tokyo and other big cities, honestly it's average but I'm a generous guy. Give it a try. Support this small business.

This is my favorite place in Jackson to get sushi. This place is very clean and the service is very fast most of the time. It’s usually not too busy which is good (there’s only been one time where I had to wait.) Other than our waitress getting our order mixed up one time, it’s always been great and I will continue to go back. The hibachi food (chicken fried rice) is also very good and so are the soups! The only complaint that I have is that the sushi rolls are bigger than usual in my opinion, so it’s hard to fit a whole one in your mouth, which I think is what most people should be able to do.

Based on the many reviews here, we decided to eat here on our way through because my wife and i love sushi. We've had great sushi from DC to Colorado to California to Memphis and even Mountain Home, Arkansas. We've also had crummy buffet sushi and good buffet sushi. Truly, we're becoming quite the critics.

Well, I got worried as soon as i walked in the door to see on the dry erase board: "today's special, margaritas"... At a sushi place. Ok, whatever... We thought.

Then the menu had like 60+sushi choices. Maybe 100... IDK. It was a ton. I can't find a sake menu, only a table display about their decidedly non-Japanese mixed drinks menu. Sigh.

Anyway, the waitress comes and I ask her if they have nigori sake. She asked me what that was. She's not been trained well. Sigh.

Moving on... They do and she brings the bottle. It wasn't shaken long enough (or at all) and lots of the white part was still attached to the bottom. Sigh.

Food.

I like spicy rolls so we got one described as Cajun spiced. We also got a more standard type roll. When they came, they were nearly twice as long as typical. Cool! If only the quality was half the quantity. The Cajun one was literally covers with Tony Cerones spice. It was terrible. Truly terrible. We each ate two bites and simply couldn't any further.

As to the other roll, it was ok, but the fish was clearly somewhat old. Probably would have been fine as cooked but not so much as a raw roll.

I will say the seaweed salad was good though a tad sweet. Odd.

Overall, the service was slow and the food was crummy. We did something we never do: we complained about the rolls. They comped the one roll. Thanks.

But i had to share this review. If you want good sushi, do not come here. If you like bland or very Americanized food or buffets, this is your place. Hipsters...

Does this place have new ownership? After arriving over an hour before closing time on the Friday of Labor Day weekend we were surprised to find the place empty and overstaffed, until we noticed the sign notifying that they were waiting to be able to serve alcohol at a later date. No problem, we decided to dine in. After placing an extensive order (over $100 worth of food) and waiting a little while the sushi arrived. We waited a little longer and realized the rest of our food wasn't coming. I walked to find our server and she just didn't put in any of the 5 items we ordered, only the sushi. She apologized and put the rest of the order in. The same server who looked at me without grabbing her notebook to write down our order until we started at each other for a long moment, as though she was going to somehow remember it. She still messed up my order by serving salads with a peanut/mayo dressing after I specified a ginger dressing twice, the first time I ordered and again when she failed to put the order in. My partner is allergic to peanuts and I am allergic to eggs. By the time we got some of our food it was half an hour until closing and the staff with nothing else to do began cleaning up. We ended up asking for the rest of our food to go because someone decided to mop before closing time and suddenly all we could smell/taste was the strong scent of pine sol. After looking forward to eating out for the first time in ages this was an extremely disappointing experience that concluded with eating cold food by the time we got home and thus we will not be returning. Do...
