OWNER IS A YOUNG PUNK PIECE OF TRASH I would give it negative stars if I could! We have been going there for over 20 years and always had a great experience until recently. Food quality went wayyyy down, unedible down and we told the owner we should not have to pay because we did not get what we ordered and it was horrible food, and he still made us pay full price! All the while giving us extreme attitude. I was with a disabled person and he couldn't even show some respect! Owner is a kid with something to prove because he got daddys business and money....at least that's exactly what he acted like. As long as this jack ass is the owner, DO NOT GO HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Your response sir, is an out right lie! First, when we went in for steaks a few weeks ago, we did not finish half of those because they were unpalatable. We asked to speak to the manager and you never came out. no one else tried to compensate us anything nor did we ask, So we paid $60. We were sick for two days. We let you know about this incident this time and you ignored that. You did NOT give us 25% off, I looked at the receipt. You gave us a 5% discount AFTER we sent the check back 3 times asking for a price reduction. We did pick at it, because we were sitting there 45mins waiting for you to come talk to us and get a replacement. 3 staff members came by 4 times saying u were coming! You had no respect whatsoever for the disabled guest or myself. I asked you to put yourself in our shoes and & You wouldn't even listen to what we had to say, all you kept saying was its our policy, bla, bla, bla. its appalling you say I used my friends disability for leverage not to pay. You know very well that was not the case. Like I stated before we have been going to Scrooges for years and we have always been happy and never asked for any compensation bc the food and service were good. But You do NOT go above and beyond to make your customers experience a positive one like you state in your response. You made no effort to compensate us or try to make any mistakes right. It is unacceptable for a customer to pay for you and your staffs mistakes. You couldn't even talk to us by yourself like a human being, you had your cooks and waiters intimidate us. All of this could have been avoided. Your now blaming the cooks, so tell your cooks to purchase meat that doesn't make people sick for 2 days and get the computer straight so when someone orders the redfish dish on the menu, people don't get blackened red fish (TACO SEASONING!) when they've never ordered that EVER, since it takes u 40 minutes to come check on ur customers. SO... take responsibility for the "integrity of your restaurant, product, and service" or keep lying...
Read moreIt was late on a Friday evening and I wanted a good meal (10:00). The only place still serving except fast food was Scrooges. I had not been there in a couple of years. When I walked in it was like being greeted by an old friend. The place was not crowded but had a fair crowd. Chris, the owner greeted me by name and poured me a glass of wine. I asked if it was too late to place an order. He looked at his watch and said I had 3 minutes. With a smile he picked up the tablet and took my order. I had the Sirloin steak, medium, salad, twice baked potato and French bread. The salad was out immediately with butter and crackers. My steak came out about the time I finished my salad. It was served by gentleman with a huge smile and the hope I enjoyed it. My steak was hot and cooked perfectly. It was tender, juicy and full of flavor. The potato was also very hot and delicious. The portions were generous and I had to leave a couple of bites. I have not enjoyed a meal that much in a long time. It was worth every penny. The service was exceptional. Try getting an order in at the last minute, anywhere in town, if you can. You will not be welcome and the staff will let you know it, if they even let you place an order. At Scrooges, I was encouraged to place an order 3 minutes before the kitchen closed!! I am planning to visit again very soon and I will endeavor to not be so late. But I know I will be welcome if I am. ...
Read moreHonestly, I don't see how this place is still in business. For starters if you've never eaten here before, the signage from the street is so small unless you have GPS you won't see it and then you have to park in the back...really? Then once you get inside, the seating is sooo close you have to dang near whisper so other customers won't be able to hear your conversation. The booth where we sat, the table was screeching when we moved it to try and sit down and it was a very tight squeeze. The waitress was friendly and attentive. I ordered the small red beans and rice with sausage and my friend ordered the pot roast with mashed potatoes and we both had side salads. As you can see in the picture, they only gave me one side of a sausage, who does that? There was absolutely no taste or seasoning on the beans or rice. I requested that my sausage be burnt🔥 but it wasn't. They charged $2.50 for an extra sausage which was bigger than what was initially given with the meal but did include both sides of sausage but was not cooked as well as the first piece. The cornbread provided with the meal was as big as my 2 hands put together but again it had no taste. The salad was simply iceberg lettuce, cucumbers, and grape tomatoes with watered down ranch dressing. My friend's pot roast had the consistency of refried beans but was chocolate in color so not appealing or tasty in any way. We finished our salads but...
