Before I start with my main review, let me say this place is physically decent, it was clean and lots of tables to accommodate customers. Location was great and the service was good. Now for the main review:
We are from out of town and we were in the vicinity, doing a lot of walking. Since we were tired and hungry, we decided to just go a place that's near to us. My daughter saw Manship's online reviews as really good, there were a lot of 4 & 5 stars so we decided to go there. I DON'T RECOMMEND THIS PLACE, DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!!! Here's why:
I ordered rotisserie chicken, it was tough and the flavor was bad. It tasted like they used a marinade or bbq sauce that's from dollar general. No offense to dollar general but this restaurant's prices are on the high end.
My wife ordered lasagna, and after three bites, she pushed it away, she said it was horrendous. I just gave her my rotisserie chicken since I couldn't eat it, but she said she'd rather have my chicken instead of the lasagna.
My daughter ordered salmon. Her take: it was dry, too toasted, and no flavor.
My son got a whole pizza and since I couldn't eat my chicken, I asked for a slice from him. When I bit on the pizza, it took some effort to pull it away from my mouth...it was tough.
Finally, we also ordered charbroiled oysters. When it was served, it looked suspicious because one can barely see the actual oysters. They were pretty small. It was covered with too much cheese and sauce. When we tried it, it tasted like pizza. What oysters tasting like pizza?
My bill total with tax: $180
Price range on this restaurant is on the high side, so it's expected for the food to be exceptional or the least, decent. It was such a big disappointment and everybody in my family unanimously decided, we should never go back to this place. I believe we all arrived at a...

Tried this place 3 times.
Me and my husband go to Fertile Ground and usually like to pick him up a beer and walk to a local restaurant within walking distance. Every visit heâs been allowed to carry his outside drink into the manship restaurant. The first visit the establishment we let them know we had it and asked to sit outside - very accommodating. They even told us it was fine. Second visit we were allowed inside the restaurant and were allowed to dine with no problem.
This third visit was no such luck. We stood waiting for the hostess to seat us after she asked how many was in out party. She seemed preoccupied with trying to read something with another hostess. After she sits us outside/hands us menus - she tells us no outside drinks are allowed in the establishment. We proceeded to tell her we have been allowed before. She just stares awkwardly at us and leaves the table. Iâm thinking - ok - we now know - we wonât do it again. Here comes our waiter with a waiter in training - he takes out order and goes off to get our drinks. Then we get another guy from the establishment comes out to tell us what canât even be there and we have to leave because we have an outside drink. Offers for us to take our food to go. Offered to pay for the inconvenience. You put way too many hands on the table. Too much interaction over one drink.
Look - I understand they can turn people away because they donât want outside drinks in - I get it. Trust me! But donât sit me at a table and take my order and then tell me I have to take it to go...
Read moreMy daughter celebrated her birthday here on 6/17. We reserved a table of 10 which was no problem, reservation went smoothly. We showed up with cake and 2 balloons, as we were seated the waitress asked if I wanted her to take the cake and put it in the fridge, I said sure. She take the cake to the back and came back to the table asking where did we purchase the cake from?? I said Dream Cakes in Flowood then she said there is a $5 per person fee to cut the cake!!!! So I'm looking at her like she's crazy, not a $5 fee but $5 per person and keep in mind there is 10 of us. Her reason for that is if we had bought the cake from Bravos or Campbell's there wouldn't be a fee. The cake itself was $85 so I said no, I'm not paying $50 to cut a cake. This TRIFLING FEMALE brings the cake back to the table and say oh, I just want to let you know there is another reservation @8:30. So I'm really pissed now because I feel as if she's trying to rush us. I've never had a problem here and the food is good but this incident was unacceptable. If the cutting fee is policy, then it should have been mentioned during the reservation and we would not have brought the cake to the restaurant. Ok, since I can't respond to the owner's response, I guess I have to do it this way. *MY review is MY opinion. To the owner who left the response, I'm guessing you felt some kind of way about my review. There are many nice, upscale restaurants that allows you to bring in a CAKE. My concern is that it wasn't mentioned up front. By no means did I talk bad about your establishment. However, I said what I said and I meant...
