Overview: By far, for me, Dukes is my number one beer of choice. I have been coming to this brewery off and on for years. The staff is the best. The people who come to brink a few beers are very down to earth. Live music-worthy amount of beer selection makes for a good evening. What to know: There is a food vendor on site—your basic foods. You have your typical on-tap beers that I call Bold City's signature beers. You can get wine and some other options to drink. They have outside seating, inside the brewery seating equipped with a bar, and a small closed-door seating bar section. This is where you will find the bathrooms and games. Pet friendly, and I see kids running about learning what a great brewery atmosphere must be like. It is in the riverside area; it's all good....right? Parking is not so bad. You can park just across the street if need be. When there are special events, it can get a bit crazy, but most of the time, it's all just sitting back and enjoying the...
Read moreOne of my favorite breweries in Jax and has been for almost 10 years. The beers are good. Nothing absolutely mind blowing but they make good solid beers. They have a beer for every person depending on what style of beer you like and they are dirt cheap. I believe they have $3 core beers on Sunday. $3!?!?
One thing to keep in mind is that 90% of the brewery is within the warehouse but not in the AC. It’s Florida so expect it to be warm even on cooler 80 degree days. They have fans but man it’s still hot. Their inside area is air conditioned and very cozy and comfy.
Their food is great too. They have food full time and more than just finger foods. You can get burgers, pizza, and sides too. All in all this is a great brewery and staple within Jacksonville. One of the first in Jax and distributes all over Florida. You know it’s good beer when you can buy it at...
Read moreHad the pleasure to purchase a six pack of Duke's cold nose brown ale at my local ABC Liquors in Tampa. Must admit that what caught my attention was the picture of the Boxer ("Duke") on the can, as an owner of a boxer (Swayze, born on the day his namesake died!) it appealed to me and I thought I might as well try it and if the beer sucked the can would be nice to keep. Turned out it was the best brown ale I have ever tasted! No joke, the balance and taste are excellent. Then when I found out it was brewed in my home State of Florida, double plus! Keep up the great work brewing! I look forward to trying your other brews as well. Sorry to hear about Duke's passing. I'll post a picture of my boxer with a can of Duke's maybe we can start a great advertising campaign..."Show me your...
