10/15/2022 - came in for dinner, ordered a 14" custom pizza and it was delicious, the zucchini fries as fantastic as ever. 9/2022 - Came in for lunch today, ordered our two favorite items, Zucchini Fries and NYC Philly Cheesesteak, both were as good as ever. Also tried the Meatball Parm sandwich. I love the bread they use, so pillowy soft and fresh. Unfortunately, just like their Chicken Parm, the sliced meatballs are not made in-house, very obviously frozen and spongy with additives & fillers. I used to love Carmine's, craved it, even. Definitely my favorite place for cheese or pepperoni pizza, and the salads are always fresh and delicious. But the more menu items I try, the more I discover many things aren't homemade, so we'll just stick to ordering the salad, pizza & cheesesteak. 6/2021 - Finally got a chance to try a Deep Dish pizza... finally! We sat down and were greeted by a server and a server-in-training, asking for our drink order. Knowing that the deep dish takes 30 minutes, we placed our entire order at once: 2 waters, an IPA draft, Zucchini Fries appetizer, and a Sausage Deep Dish pie. We got the beverages promptly and after 20 minutes waiting, I approached the trainee to make sure they knew we wanted the Zucchini Fries first, to which he assured me they did. 10 minutes later our server & trainee came to the table with the deep dish. I asked about the Zucchini Fries and she said, "oh, didn't you get them? I'll go check." and returned a few minutes later to tell us they'd sold out so that's why they never arrived (Boooo) but she'll be sure to take it off our bill. We'd asked for two small sides of sauce @ .75 cents each, comping these would've been a nice gesture for our disappointment and their oversight. The deep dish pie was quite light on sausage flavor. I did have some leftover so I opened it up the next day and found complete sausage coverage on the bottom, but the slices were only 1/16" thick. Maybe crumbles would work better. Overall, the pie was delicious, the cheese was flavorful with a nice silky texture, the sauce on top was chunky and tangy, the crust was light but still had a nice chew. Our trainee was very pleasant, he'll be a great addition to the staff. He came over to the table and, I guess to be helpful, cleared away the empty beer glass, but he should've asked if we wanted another. He did return later to ask if we wanted dessert, tho, so thumbs up with that. We've been to Carmine's probably close to a dozen times so far, our favorites so far are the pizzas and the cheesesteak. This was our only time with any missteps, and without any hesitations, we'll be back plenty more in the future.

We visited Carmines Pizza House for lunch while traveling through Jacksonville. We arrived at 11:30 and although the parking in front of the restaurant was full, we had no problem getting a booth to eat at. But by noon the place was full. We were greeted by a pleasant gentleman who invited us to sit any place we chose. He then left menus with us and we perused the specialty pizza section looking for something "safe" and something interesting. The safe choice was the Home on the Range pizza; basically a "meat lover's" pizza. The interesting choice was Da Bomb. It's a pizza with blue cheese, chicken, and jalapenos with a drizzle of hot sauce. Both pizzas were really good. The crust was not soggy and had a nice crunch when biting into it. The Home on the Range was meaty deliciousness on a tasty tomato sauce and Da Bomb was aptly named for its spice. I shared both pizzas with my granddaughter and she picked off the jalapenos because of the heat, but otherwise loved the pizza. The taste of the blue cheese is quite pronounced, so if you like the funky taste of blue cheese mixed with the heat of jalapenos, you will enjoy this pizza. My wife played it much safer, ordering the lunch special: two slices of pizza with a drink. She ordered pepperoni and black olives, which are her favorite pizza toppings. The lunch special is a good deal and the pizza slices are pretty big! The atmosphere of Carmines Pie House is cool. There are lots of things hanging from the ceiling or tacked to the wall, quirky things you might find in an antique shop or on the side of the road. The peculiar decor makes dining here fun. Our food server was very friendly and attentive. She checked on our table several times after bringing our pizza to see if we needed anything. My impression is that the people at Carmines Pie House are hard working and enjoy what they are doing. We all were glad that we stopped by Carmine Pie Shop for lunch. It's always a risk trying something new, but this time is paid off.

Great pizza place with amazing appetizers. Drinks: Since I was driving, I got a fountain drink which was fine. One of my party ordered a Duke's and said it tasted good. The other one ordered a domestic beer and said it tasted flat. APPS: My party got the zucchini fries and the pizza fries. The pizza fries received a lukewarm reception and were alright, but the fries quickly became soggy and and were edible but not really amazing. The zucchini fries on the other hand were absolutely astounding. The fries themselves taters great and had a nice crispy texture and a good crunch to them. The flavor was great and it was night and day between these and the pizza fries. The sauce the zucchini fries came with was a zesty horseradish sauce which complemented the fries well and elevated the taste. Entrees: We ordered the portobello ravioli and the Triskaidek pizza, which was everything a meat lover could ask for. The Triskaidek pizza was absolutely amazing and had a wonderful flavor. We got half with banana peppers and - due to my friends fear of 13 - half without. The pizza was great and definitely worth the price. We both agreed the pizza was great. The ravioli as I was told was delicious and was definitely something they would get again. Dessert: While all of us were stuffed, one of us for a cannoli to go, which looked delicious. Bill: The bill was as expected, but split between three people wasn't pricy at all. Taylor was our waitress and she was great and attentive. None of our drinks were empty, as she was always topping them off. All in all, a great place to eat and probably one of the best pizza places in northeast Florida.

I will never go to Carmine's Pie House again after how rudely I was treated there recently. I do think their pizza is great and their deep dish is terrific but they treated me horribly & I never even had any food!

My friend and I went there on Fri. May 23rd... it didn't seem too busy. We sat outside. I did what a sign said to do and I let the cashier know we were sitting outside. No one waited on us and after 10-15 minutes of chatting, we went inside. It was NO BIG DEAL... we weren't in a hurry, we weren't upset at all.

We saw a couple waiting inside but saw no one help them. We waited a few minutes, I went to the restroom and then afterward, I let the cashier know the 4 of us were waiting to be seated and I saw no host.

Then, I saw people just come in and sit at a table and out of nowhere, some guy appeared with a clipboard. I said to him that 4 of us were waiting and the other people just came in and sat. He told us he had a waiting list and offered to seat us. I told him to seat the other couple because they were there first.

I then was just trying to ask the guy where he was... that we had been outside and then inside and didn't see him or a list or anything. He immediately tells me it's a family establishment and I was about to get kicked out. I wasn't cussing or yelling or anything. I was just trying to figure out what was going on and why I hadn't seen him. Then a waitress came by and offered us a free appetizer... but I didn't go there for free food. Then I started talking to her, using my hands, because I'm Italian and I talk with my hands and she barked at my and in a nasty tone, told me to put my hands down.

At that point, we were done and we left and I will never go back. I was not out of line at any point. It seemed like the two of them were looking for a reason to kick me out or something. If there was a waiting list, why didn't I see him for a long time? Where was he? Why didn't the cashier simply tell me they usually have a waiting list and a host?

I totally respect food service workers and I try to be as nice as I can to them...they work hard, they don't get paid enough & people can be rude. I am not rude when I go out to eat and I wasn't rude that night! I was just trying to ask questions. Those employees were rude to me and I did not deserve that treatment. They were completely...
