Me and my husband were craving BBQ. Unfortunately for us, there isn’t much around. I ordered pickup through Bono’s website—Turkey Salad and a 2 meat combo with ribs and pulled pork and a side garlic bread (3 pieces). It said it would be ready in 15 minutes and that is about how far we are so my husband left the house almost immediately. Picked it right up (definitely his fault he didn’t check the bags before leaving, but that’s men). His entire plate of food was cold when he got home. He received zero pulled pork. He had 5 ribs total, 3 were babies and super dry. The other two were good. Collard greens were good. My salad was nothing special and the ranch was gross (tastes like they buy it now, I used to love their ranch). He also only received two pieces of bread instead of three. I called the restaurant to let them know about the pork and missing bread. Marie answered the phone and seemed immediately frustrated. I guess there pickup orders aren’t going through correctly when ordered online. However, that is never the customers fault. Shut your online pickup orders off then. We sat on hold for a while for her to get a manager because they couldn’t even pull up the order. She came back and had pulled the order up. Said they gave us a large rib dinner instead and that she couldn’t give us a refund but that we could drive all the way back for some pork. Needless to say, we won’t be going back. The restaurant experience these days are not the same. Most are short staffed and I’m sure it is so hard to accommodate everyone’s needs. However, customer service is key. Offering us even a $5 coupon or something would have been suffice. To be honest, we deserved a small refund even if it was for the garlic bread that was MISSING. Overall, management needs to step up. Fix the pickup orders online or remove it so you don’t keep going through this. And, if your servers/staff can’t learn how to communicate with customers then management needs to take over...
Read moreHave always favored the original Beach Blvd location. Our family will pick this spot over just about every other BBQ location in town. However, we have noticed, since COVID, the quality and care of the order has slowly deteriorated substantially. The attitude with the sales folks over the phone and at the window seems to be they no longer care about customer service and just don't want to be there. Last night was a prime example. When she opened the window to greet me, it was more of a 'what do you want' attitude instead of a 'how can I help you' attitude. Then when I was presented the bill for their Hawg Feast, I choked when she stated the cost. The price from a few weeks ago was $49.99. Last nights bill was $75.00 and change!! I ask if that was correct and she stated they had a slight price increase a couple weeks ago...Ouch...Slight? Then when we got home, after putting everything out for the family to eat, they had forgotten our side of baked beans. Ugh. We had ask for outside cut on the beef and pork but none could be found. Read moreWent in there this evening for dinner and there was only a few tables with people the entire time we were in there. So disappointed in our service from our waitress. One woman who said she wasn't a waitress sat us and took our drink orders and even started taking our actual orders before our waitress came to the table. We placed our orders, got our food and that was the last we saw our waitress. We could hear her having a loud conversation on the other side of the wall the entire time we ate, someone else even brought out one of her other table's food that arrived after us. Once the woman she was having a conversation with was getting ready to leave she pokes her head around the wall and asked if I needed another drink. I had needed another drink 10 minutes prior to that. I just told her not anymore. I hope she realizes that why she only got a $2 tip on a $30some bill, she's lucky she even got that. I have been here before and had good service, but there's no excuse to not even see the waitress for the entire meal when the place is dead slow. At least the food was good, but will definitely be...
