My 1-star is not for the food itself, which is very good, but for the owner of this establishment. My family and I have done here several times over the years and decided to have lunch here today. All was good like usual until the end of our meal. We had leftovers and asked for to-go boxes to take them home. After I finished packing up our meals and getting ready to leave, the owner decided to come over our table. I thought it was going to be the normal pleasantries, e.g. how was everything? Thank you for coming in today, etc. But that didn’t happen. Instead, she came over to ask what was in our to go boxes and I told her it was our leftovers. Surprisingly, she proceeded to interrogate me on why I needed to-go boxes and started lecturing me that it was unusual that I would need them because according to her in the 7 years of her business, no one has ever needed them when dining in (despite the fact that we’ve gotten to-go boxes every single time we’ve dined here in the past). She then complained about how expensive the styrofoam boxes were and tried to guilt me for asking for them. Instead of talking to her staff, who provided them to me, as a training opportunity, she decided to blame the customer (me) for something that is a non-issue at virtually all restaurants that ever existed. While I understand times the cost of doing business is rising, the same applies to customers who purchase their goods or services. This owner’s attitude was completely unacceptable and ungrateful for the hard earned money that customers spend at her business. Complaining and guilting a customer for a item that probably cost $0.50 despite the customer (me) spending over $80 for our meal is ridiculous and idiotic. To save 50 cents on a couple of styrofoam boxes, she decided to lose out on hundreds of dollars in future revenue from a once loyal customer. Needless to say, we will not come back and will be recommending other Korean restaurants to our friends...

Searching for a new and exciting food adventure, my friends and I stumbled upon Gangnam Korean Restaurant after a minor Yelp disappointment elsewhere. Luckily, this hidden gem had amazing reviews, plus my friends guaranteed it was a winner. And boy, were they right!
As soon as we stepped inside, we were welcomed with a cozy, homey ambiance that instantly made us feel comfortable. The service was quick and friendly, enveloping us in a warm embrace of Korean hospitality.
Being a gluten-free gal, I made it a point to ensure my meal was prepared without any sneaky soy sauce (the gluten culprit!). Thankfully, the staff was understanding and helped me out. No gluten-related shenanigans for me, no sir!
Now, let's talk about the food. I ordered the kimchi with rice and vegetables, and it was scrumptious. While I can't claim to be a Korean cuisine expert, I can say that every bite felt like a lovingly prepared home-cooked meal. The flavors were rich, savory, and just downright mouthwatering.
We also sampled a variety of dishes brought out on a tray, like a Korean-style bread or chip platter. Everything was delicious, except for the cold potato surprise. It caught me off guard, but hey, the flavor was still fantastic.
That rice and kimchi meal, oh my, it was unforgettable. Days later, I couldn't stop thinking about its deliciousness. If you're in the mood for what I believe to be authentic Korean cuisine (and others with more knowledge agree), I highly recommend Gangnam Korean Restaurant.
So, gluten-free friends and foodies alike, come on down and let Gangnam satisfy your cravings in style. With its homey atmosphere, tasty dishes, and friendly service, it's sure to become your go-to spot for a fun...
Read moreCame here with family on Sunday. The highlight of our experience was the food! Everything was very flavorful and cooked to perfection! We used to make the drive to Brunswick, GA to our favorite Korean restaurant. But since Gangnam has really turned around for the best, we’ve been coming here. We tried this place twice a while back when they had a different cook.
We started with the Pan Fried Korean Savory Pancake (Seafood). It was very good except for the rubbery little pieces of octopus.
Between me and my family, we ordered Spicy Seafood Tofu Soup (mine), Spicy Beef Intestine Tripe Soup (dad’s), Oxtail Soup (mom’s) and Marinated Beef Short Ribs/ Galbi (child’s). We all equally enjoyed our meal and even tasted each other’s order. I added another Galbi to-go for my other daughter at home because it was so good! Also, all the banchan were very good!
The reason why I knocked off 1 star was because the service was very slow. It took so long for the server to take our orders and took even longer to get our orders out. We were literally starving! There were only 2 other tables there. The appetizer came with our entrees. I felt bad because the owner lady was the only one cooking because her helper is off on Sundays, which may be the reason why they’ll be closing on Sundays.
The owner came out and had a little chit chat. She was super friendly and very apologetic about the slow service and the monkfish being unavailable. We wanted to ordered the monkfish soup but she didn’t have enough to make the soup. She advised us to call a day ahead if we want the monkfish because her fish monger only delivers them on certain days and she has to reserve it.
Overall, I’ll keep going back because...
