Flame Broiler — Restaurant in Jacksonville

I visited this particular Flame Broiler on San Marco Blvd. today, 8/27/20. I don't know what has happened but the place has gotten really bad. The last two times I have been the service and food was terrible. Prior to the last two times the food was great. The veggies were crisp, the rice fluffy and the meat perfect. Now the rice was mushy, the veggies were virtually non extant and what was there, looked like they had been sitting in hot water for a few days. The meat was ok, I usually order the chicken bowl. When asked about adding the green onions the register person said they no longer served them. The two staff people, the cook and the register person, seemed to not care one way or the other. The staff seems to turn over quite frequently as well. I gave them one more shot today after my previous bad experience at this particular restaurant but never again. Avoid this unit. I don't know who owns or runs this franchise but they need to be aware their staffing and food currently...

Placed a delivery order that never came, called to inquire why and found out that they apparently don't deliver after 6 and it wasn't going to be processed as a delivery (despite the fact that it had very specific delivery instructions that were ignored).

What bothers me most isn't this mishap but how it was handled. The first person I got on the phone didn't have any solution other than hanging up on me without saying anything at all. The second person I spoke to took nearly 15 minutes of calling to get ahold of. Once I got the manager on the phone I was informed that he was a "traveling" manager and he didn't know how to refund my order or how the online ordering system works.

In summary, Flame Broiler is a joke. Their food is "ok" at best and overpriced for what you get. It's not worth all the extra trouble that comes along with ordering from here, take your business somewhere else. We used to regularly order hundred + dollars of food from here every weekend. No more after...

Beautiful and clean place, the service was outstanding, the food was absolutely phenomenal. Highly recommend this place. We are from out of town. I will definitely be frequenting this place any time I come to visit this city. Food was out of this world delicious. The staff was knowledgeable, kind, enthusiastic, and considerate. I could not have been more pleased. I don't know if our server/host was the owner, or just an employee. But if she is not the owner I hope they pay her well. That is the best employee you could ever possibly hope to have. We both got the half and half mini bowl with veggies and rice. I'm an incredibly picky eater and I loved everything. Themagic sauce is amazing, the hot sauce is warm, sweet, but then tangy in all the right ways, the jalapeño sauce was the best I've ever had anywhere. We bought 3 bottles and they gifted us one for my birthday. I can not wait to come back again. I'm going to tell everyone that I know that comes to Jacksonville...
