Im a big chinese food lover and eat it the majority of the time. Im from New york and have had an ultimatly vast fair share of chinese food from all over the northeast. From Maine,Connecticut,Vermont,New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Massachusettes, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania, when I moved to Florida, I realized the chinese food down here sucks. It is Made cheap with dry gritty rice with peas and carrots for some reason most times and missing key ingredients like bean sproutes, eggs, and very chunky pork pieces which is what I'm used to and if your from the areas I just stated then you know exactly what I am talking about. The chinese food restaurants in florida are very overly priced with not enough food served in a small plastic container. Eggrolls are too too small and are slimy also taste like trash. But this place is as close as you gonna get to chinese food from up north. This place is a gem. I give it 10 stars if I can for what florida has to provide. Too many bouje' people here with no knowledge of what real chinese street food is supposed to be like. Very good food and plenty of It served in a decent sized container, leaving you with leftovers. It's very tasty and will fill you up. I definitely love this location and highly recommend it to any northerner or if you're from California. Florida really needs to step their chinese food game up and also stop with that yellow dye they keep putting...
Read more5/5 stars, love this place and even when I move into my apartment on a different side of town, I will make 20+ minute drive just for Fong’s if I want Chinese takeout. I’ve lived maybe like 5 minutes from this place for my entire life (20 years now) and for as long as I can remember my family has ALWAYS ordered Chinese takeout from here. The staff is very nice, the inside of the establishment is simple, but always clean, the prices are really good in my opinion (as a college student with low money) and the portions are always great. I’ve read reviews on here talking negatively about the place, but in my opinion, they are very good. I’ve always stuck with their sweet and sour chicken and the house fried rice and that’s honestly my favorite combo from this restaurant. My family always orders different things and I sometimes try it, but even then when just trying what they get it is never bland or inedible, but probably just not what I would prefer. To those who would like to try food from here, I would highly recommend it, but don’t let one bad experience keep you away. Come back and try their other dishes. I promise you will find...
Read moreOne of my favorite Chinese restaurants in Jax, period. I started coming here as it’s literally right next to my work, and have been getting it at least once a week since then. Every member of the family is always so kind and friendly. The food is really great and actually tastes like a fresh prepared dish, not just meat fried and sauced with something sweet, there’s actually flavor and the dishes taste different. I love that when you call and order some items they let you know it’s spicy. Not white people spicy, it’s actually spicy and just the right way. I always ask for my lo mein to be cooked spicy too which some places don’t do, and it’s always great. The chicken and veggies always seem very fresh and crunchy, not soggy and discolored. Haven’t had anything bad from here. Also, it’s unbelievably clean and tidy inside. You can tell they take great pride in their establishment and serving people delicious food. Did I mention the portions are insane for the cost? A regular is always more than I can eat in one sitting, the dinner/ large could probably feed several people. Highly highly recommended,...
