I gave Lupita's a 3 instead of a 2 because 1) my daughter liked what she got and 2) the people working there were kind and immediately tended to the issue I had with my order.

While watching Patti's Mexican Table on PBS, I began to crave Mexican food. So I scrolled through some options not that far and landed on Lupita's. First thing I noticed on the Google website "Menu" pictures was that a lot of the reviews weren't that recent. There were good reviews and bad ones, but I wanted to decide for myself.

I ordered 2 of the #15 meals (1 burrito, 1 enchilada, and 1 tamale), and a steak quesadilla meal. First red flag was the menus didn't have any prices. The prices had white out on them. The second red flag was the 2 combo meals did not come with rice and beans. I had to order them as a separate side item. The third red flag was when I got home, I noticed part of my order was missing. I had to drive back to Lupita's. I showed them my receipt indicating what I ordered and I showed them the pictures of what I was given. Abuela thought that I ordered the #5. The granddaughter had to tell her no, it was quince (#15). So, after the confusion went away, my missing items were made along with two Chile Relleno stuffed with cheese that I ordered additionally during this return visit.

Over all, the meal I had wasn't all that. The Chile Relleno was partially if not entirely cooked in the microwave (I actually saw it placed in it). The salsa appeared to be just pureed tomatoes with a few specks of cilantro in it. The rice and beans were bland. It just didn't hit. And I know this restaurant can do better. I see the potential!

On the plus side, my daughter thoroughly enjoyed her quesadilla with steak. It came with rice on the side, lettuce, guacamole,...

We went there for lunch today. I don't mind hole in the wall places. Its very run down and a def needs a make over. It would put a lot of people off. But we found our table was clean and it looks like they are trying to remodel, so lets give it a chance. Hubby got the Chimichanga with shredded beef, rice and there was lettuce on the side. He said it was good. Maybe I ordered the wrong thing...I ordered the steak taco salad. I will say, it was loaded with steak. However, it was over cooked, dry and chewy. (Please dont offer steak on the menu if you dont know how to cook it.) It was also loaded with lettuce. Not much else.. a "dollop" of the following: sour cream, guacamole and beans. Could barely taste them. The oil must have been old, the shell and chip's tasted bitter. Hubby even said so. When served she asked if there was anything else we needed. She promptly brought back the tomatilla sauce (questionable) that I asked for and the chips and salsa (canned tomatoes and not very tasty) hubby asked for, and never checked on us again. Oh did I mention that we waited over 40 minutes for our food while they filled to go orders? There was only 1 other table in the restaurant with customers, and they had already been served before we walked in. Also they served that table their additional to go order before we got our food. Furthermore, at least 3 go orders went out the door, while we waited. I hate to make a bad review on a Ma and pop shop. 😒 I really do. I hope they improve. On the positive side, prices are...

Where do I start...The "Service" is an understatement! I ordered a drink and the server whom looked as if she should still be in school that took my drink order came back 10 minutes later without my drink, so I kindly asked again and she came back 5 minutes later with it...15 minutes to make and serve a non alcoholic drink?? Ridiculous! Then after we get our food and go to pay, we stand there and are ignored for 10 minutes, so we told one of the workers there that we have to leave now as we were on our lunch break and she finally acknowledges us and asks us what we ordered. We tell her what we ordered and where we were sitting and paid for our meals OR THOUGHT WE DID but apparently, they don't keep tickets of what they serve because as we were pulling out of the parking spot, big momma comes out waving us down saying we need to come back in because we didn't pay for something...Like really?! Now we are LATER going back to work because she didn't understand or keep track of what we ordered and charged us wrong. Not to mention we asked to split the entire bill in half the first time we paid, and she charged the first card for the entire bill amount. Also, they have whited out all the prices for everything on the menu, which is very...

I will not be coming back here ever they were completely rude and disrespectful or atleast the owner was the waitress was fine I went in here to grab some lunch with my family because I usually have good like with little holes in the wall the waitress forgot one of my orders so there was a wait on my husband’s food then when his came out his had looked fresh where as to mine look stale and old and had no flavor he had ordered a fajita plate and I had ordered the Carne Asada when I asked to swap my food the owner told me no and that she would just take my plate off of my bill leaving me without a plate of food because she would not allow me to order anything else the owner needs to retire because she clearly has no customer service skills and the cook needs to take classes in culinary cause he doesn’t know the difference between human and dog food I love small businesses so I hope for their sake they do better cause at this rate I don’t see them staying open much longer (my food is the first one my husbands is the second)

I lived in Texas for a good portion of my childhood and I had Mexican food at least once a week. I’m very picky when it comes to Mexican food and I’ll only eat it if it’s authentic. With that being said, the food at Lupita’s was amazing. I ordered steak fajitas and as soon as they were delivered to my table, all eyes were on my plate. Someone came in to pick up a to go order and ended up adding steak fajitas to their order because mine looked and smelled so good! The customer service was excellent and the food speaks for itself. I will DEFINITELY be returning!
