With all the raving reviews you probably don't need to hear mine, but hell if I'm not going to give it. These are legit the best donuts my family or I have had (and we are a donut family). We brought a dozen over to my parents where we had a number of people over and they didn't last, in the best way possible. We also got the apple fritter, or uglies as they call them, and my husband said he could live off of them (and if you've read any of my other reviews you know he's not a sweets guy). They were warm, crumbly melt in your mouth perfection when we picked them up... but even hours later when we couldn't help but dig into the last remaining, coveted half, it was still sticky, sweet, sugary goodness. The shoppe is set in an unassuming part of town, but those are always where the hidden gems lie, aren't they? If you want to have your pick of the litter make sure to go early (they open at 5am). We went at 11 and, while they were close to sold out, we were not disappointed with our offerings. They don't have a bad donut in the place. PS: they are cash only, so bring those dollar bills (they do have an atm with a $2.75 fee if you forget though)!

I found myself parked outside of the Donut Shoppe at 4:51 am all because I had spent the previous hours before my drive drooling over photos and reviews. I love Apple Fritters and when I kept reading about these Uglies served here I had to try it. I had the pleasure of getting one fresh from being glazed and I fell im love at first bite! It's got a very mild crunch that leads into the perfect chewy bite or cinnamon, apple and glaze. The strawberry cake donut was moist and melt in your mouth goodness, I loved this one as well. Oh, and the customer service was great. For some reason I thought I would be the only one here this early but as soon as the open sign came alive so did the customers. If I would've had the same experience and had only ordered the Ugly and the Strawberry cake donut this review would've got 5 stars hands down! But, their glaze donut was literally cold resulting in a not so fresh experience for that one. I'll be back for the beautiful Uglies and the Strawberry Cake donut for sure.

I stopped by The Donut Shoppe early this morning to grab a couple dozen for the work crew and was blown away. This place opens at 5:00 a.m., which is perfect for anyone who starts their day early like I do. It has that awesome old-school vibe, while you're ordering, you can look through the window and watch them making fresh donuts right there in the back. It doesn’t get better than that! The guy at the counter was super friendly and chatty, which made the experience even better. Just a heads-up: it's cash only, but they do have an ATM on-site if you forget. These donuts were a hit, and I’ll definitely be coming back, probably more often than I should!

A fellow bus operator introduced me to the donut shop and I was hooked from then on the following weekend I took my father and my mother and my sister for a donut breakfast they thought it was so nice, the next weekend my mother asked me to drop by the donut shop and get two or three dozen for some buddies who was coming over for a meeting that morning it was a smash! Everyone loved it so as we continue to try all the donuts that are in your shop we are constantly adding on to the family the many people who will come by who have asked us about how was your experience with this donut shop and at this point I must say it was excellent superb had not had a donut shop that did this in a while plus my dad likes mechanics so he's always watching how the donuts are made, I myself enjoy just watching the method in which it takes to make the different donuts which they have the big windows so you can see my next outing will be getting all the grandchildren and let them come over to see how the donuts are made I know they will get a kick out of it one thing I just would ask and this is not a complaint whatsoever would you take the time to buy a blower and blow off the leaves of the steps to your business I know it comes from thebusiness that may be next to you trash accumulating and leaves but presentation of course is everything but this is not a complaint whatsoever I will never stop coming to your business just because of that but it will look...

Been coming here for 7-8 years. The last year the quality of staff has declined so bad that we barely come anymore. Regardless we decided to give it a go this particular morning, only to be dismayed again. The kid taking my order wouldn't even let me pay for a pinch of sprinkles to add to a different style of chocolate donut for my 4 year old. He said, "sorry sprinkles are only for the chocolate frosted with sprinkles". He wouldn't even let me get the sprinkles that were left on the empty tray that had fallen off the previous batch. Basically just seemed and felt like he was gonna do and say whatever to make sure my son didn't get a sprinkle. Lazy? Protocol? To me, it's kind of pathetic.

Long gone are the days of sweet old lady's taking your order. Seems like they're only hiring a bunch of young progressives. Fortunately, Jacksonville is now home to several new donut shoppers that are equally as good, better staff and more options and they will accommodate whatever. Parlor Donuts is just one. If you're an Arlington native and supporter like myself, it can be hard to break tradition. However, you...
