Horrible! I completely understand some of Jamaican cuisine takes a long time to cook so it is typically made hours before serving due to prep time, however when the food tastes like it was made a whole week prior. We have a problem. I walked in to order to-go. There was only myself, and two ladies. Three total customers and apparently only one worker. I should have known I was in for it, when the guy sat there flirting with these ladies for 10 minutes too long before even acknowledging a customer walked in. Side note: the place is pretty open, you can't miss if someone walks in. Starting with the beef patty. I sat and ate patty in restaurant til the rest of my food was completed. Super hard, needed to be re-heated and the guy took the patty straight out the heating machine on the counter!!! Ordered a large sized oxtails to only receive majority fat pieces. I ordered large to avoid that but that didn't help. So awful just thinking about it. The rice and peas were super hard, again weekend re-heated food. Like come on, this place can't make fresh rice!!! The jerk chicken lacked flavor. Just everything was bad. Luckily I decided to order the beignets before I left cause those turned out to be THE only good thing. Why? Because the guy had to actually cook them fresh!!!!!!! Which he was not happy to do. I waited 18 minutes for my food not including beignets. Total 38 minutes. I guess the guy had to pretend he cooked the other food that day. The best part when I finally received my full order of food I did what anyone would. I stopped to check to make sure I had everything, only for the guy to scream at me.."why are you checking, everything is in there". It was not, he had forgot my cabbage, jerk sauce and extra oxtail sauce that I requested prior. I will NEVER return. Frankly, neither should anyone else if you value spending your money at places that actually provide you what...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreDonāt waste your time, literally⦠I rarely write reviews but I just couldnāt let this one slide. I just moved here from South FL so I know good Jamaican food. Saw this place was literally 5 mins away and decided to try it out as Iāve been looking for a decent Jamaican restaurant. Walked in and the place was a mess, first red flag. Noticed I was literally the only customer there on a Friday afternoon, second red flag. I try to support small business and decided to try them anyway. I specifically asked if they had an item on the menu available and was told yes. What I wasnāt told was that I was gonna have to wait over 30 minutes for my food. Your better off buying jerk sauce from Publix and cooking it yourself. Extremely slow service! And overpriced for what your getting. Definitely not authentic Jamaican cuisine, I knew when the menu saidā rice and beansā because Jamaicans cook ārice and peasā. Thereās a sign saying no refunds or exchanges in red on the counter, third red flag. A literal waste of my time. I could have sat down at a restaurant and got faster service. If your gonna make customers wait 40 minutes for a plate of rice and chicken while employees sit at the counter eating and talking on their phones, the least you can do is warn them about the wait time or only accept orders that are put in ahead of time. Just bad business all around. This place is so unprofessional and I will never go back. Iām mad I spent 16$ on jerk chicken, a dish that is usually 8-10$ a plate at a REAL JAMAICAN RESTAURANT fresh off the hot grill in under 5 minutes. Donāt waste your...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreJamaican comfort food! Guys you have to come eat Chef Iries Oxtails with cabbage and rice N peas. He's friendly and cooks right in plain view. Have a beer or an "African Ginger Juice" and watch him do his thing. The Oxtail gravy is so flavorful and has the right amount of kick with a generous portion. I've been doing Keto for while but today I treated myself and ate the rice with the oxtail gravy, "sauce". To top it off it comes with sweet plantains, a favorite for me coming from a Cuban family, as I grew up eating them. My wife had the Classic "Jerk chicken" it was so good the Jerk sauce is killer and she is picky ok..LOL. My son had the huge "Jerk chicken wrap" with fries, corn nuggets, and hush puppies, my daughter had the Fresh Fried Oyster Basket with the same sides. She usually finishes an Oyster Basket but couldn't.To top it all off he has "Philly Ice" Icecream and Biscuit Beignets for a wonderful finisher. We are coming back for Taco Tuesday and Jamaican Barbeque Chicken and Rib Sundays!! This is just a few things off a large menu that consist of Jamaican fusion and traditional fried, grilled or blackened seafood Baskets/platters. Prices are very fair giving the quality of food and service. To clarify service it's more of an order at the counter, sit and eat or take it home type. You can also call ahead and order. There's no servers but that doesn't matter because it's comfortable. Restaurant is clean and welcoming with plenty of seating. His restroom was very tighty. A huge plus for my family and I . Hope this helps you...
