One Night Taco Stand — Restaurant in Jacksonville

We bought a coupon on “Local Flavor” to give this place a try as we love tacos. We came in for a quick lunch with our 1 and 3 year olds who love Mexican food. From the moment we were seated we waited, and waited, and waited for anyone to acknowledge us. I won’t even complain about the fact the place was hot and uncomfortable. We finally got chips and salsa which were tasty. Our server then disappeared for 10-15 minutes before she took our drink orders. She then returned 10 minutes later with the wrong drinks. We figured it was not worth getting them corrected because we were trying to eat and get these kids down for a nap. We put in our order, and did not see our 4 tacos and a kids meal for 45 minutes. As all of the tables around us who came in 20 minutes after we had been there were getting their meals we sat waiting. We were being patient as we always come prepared with kids snacks and activities to keep them happy in restaurants. The kids meal came out with the tacos. The server blamed the kitchen and new people working in it, but it was a highly disappointing experience to say the least. There are so many other micro complaints that made this a miserable experience, but I’ll let those slide. We will not be eating there again, even through we liked the tacos. What should have been a 45 minute to an hour experience took almost 2 hours. I am writing this as my wife drives us home to get these kids very tired children a nap. DO NOT EAT THERE IF YOU...

The worst service/food I’ve had in a very long time from a restaurant. I’m not one to complain, as I’m an ex server/bartender of 8 years but this was by far the most disappointing experience I’ve ever had from a restaurant start to finish. Our server came to our table TWICE the whole night. Once to bring waters and once to take our food orders. That was it. Everything else had to be done by other staff members because she went MIA. Our chips were disgusting, we had to ask for 2 baskets (from other employees, not our sever) because they were burnt and tasted like old oil grease/burnt. Our queso proceeded to get hard and very cold because we couldn’t find our server anywhere to ask for a new batch of chips. We ordered margaritas as soon as we sat down. Fast forward 45 mins, we are completely DONE with our meals and still have no margaritas on the table. I had to flag down another server that wasn’t ours to ask where they were and to please check in on them. When we called over a manager to explain the situation, she seemed bothered and unapologetic. Not to mention, the margaritas were PREMADE in a dispenser at the bar, so I’m not sure why they arrived 45 mins later when you literally need to pour ice in a cup and pull the premade margarita into the glass….. They were watered down and gross. I get restaurants have bad nights, but the staffs attitude really was the icing on the cake. Every employee seemed bothered and rude....

Update.- i gave them another chance... and it was so so so bad. So bad. I am just bewildered that people go there . The service was not great the food was wrong and barely meh . The environment... I felt like I was in an arena that had a thousand lights pointed right at me. Was not able to enjoy my time out because it was so uncomfortable plus of course the bad service , food & let's not even talk about the horrible margaritas. That was actually the reason I decided to give them another try because I kept hearing and seeing people say The margaritas are great. Not only was everything just beyond disappointing but both my husband and I have been sick all day today as well. And it's nothing we did other than choose to eat there because we've gone plenty of other places and had almost the exact same things and not been sick so it's not what we ate it's where we ate (& drank).. my husband is the type to put up with quite a bit before he complains. And even he after our experience last night said he would never ever set foot near that place again..

Not very impressed with this place, especially after the high regards others gave it. Tacos were good size (just got regular ones) but the flavor of their ground beef was weird. Service for to go was sub par. Not sure ill give them another chance. Actually I probably won't. But if you like the different tacos it may be worth a...
