Marco's Pizza — Restaurant in Jacksonville

The reason I'm giving it 3 stars is because I've had great customer service the first 2 times I went. Yesterday was my 3rd visit. My baby wanted pizza and cookies (from the place next door) but they were closed. I called in to order the same exact thing I've gotten prior-the medium 1 topping pizza for $6.99. When I called a guy name Mike picked up and was not very friendly. I'm not saying he was rude but he wasn't the nicest. He basically told me that he wasn't going to honor that if I didn't have a coupon code and that I needed to order online. Ok listen I get policies and that sometimes employees follow them and some don't but it's not what you say it how you say it. I understand if the other employees were not supposed to give me that deal over the phone but they did...both times to be exact. I had to order a large pizza instead of what I truly wanted. No big deal but i can see why this location has negative reviews with that kind of attitude he displayed. You'd think that they would have top notch attitude especially with all the new customers they are getting from the new cookie place next door. That's how I heard of them and I'm sure others have too.

Good pizza not so great...

I used to work here. I was a delivery driver and enjoyed my time here. I now drive semi trucks making far more money than I ever could have here. I've worked at all the big name pizza places (a few years at each one) in my teens to mid 20s. I can tell you that Marcos has the best pizza. The dough is made daily, veggies freshly cut, and great salads. This restaurant has an owner named Chirag and he's awesome. I truly felt like he cared about the customer, the product he put out, and his employees. He would work hard long hours, and do all the work he'd ask of his employees. They hired a terrible manager though. She reguarly berated employees and was the reason many employees left. I actually got hired at another pizza place nearby while I got my CDL, and another driver who went there too mentioned she's the reason he left as well. I won't name drop though as I've moved on and have a much better life (and job) now. All in all, Marco's pizza is great, but one of the managers is rude and clueless. Be wary! I’ve patronized this store many times. Always top notch pizza. Today I order a pizza but unfortunately have to cancel. I understand it’s annoying but when I call to let them know I hear in the background people cursing at the person on the phone saying no we already made it. This did not sit well with me, I called back later asking for a manager, I did not get a name but when I talked to the manager they said the cursing in the background did not happen and hung up on me. I called back again, and the person on the phone said the manager couldn’t come to the phone because was making pizza and would call back. Well I waited over an hour and decided to call back. The manager was again very rude and refused to give the owners email. I frequent this store a lot so this doesn’t sit well with me , all I wanted was the owners email to explain...
