I wanted to write this review after my first sip, but I thought I would get at least half way through my drink before I gush. I ordered a double cortadito (dueces I think) and it was hands down THEEEEE BEST that Iāve had stateside. You know all those professional coffee descriptions that they give only for your drink to end up tasting like sad espresso and milk? This was not that. I could taste all of those fancy words. Beautiful roast, velvety texture, perfectly balanced, and just enough sweetness to enhance the flavor but not overpower the drink. It was so good I was looking through my contacts for someone to call, then I remembered I have no friends šš«
I was just here at 11:45am on Monday September 8, 2025. Whoever made my cordatito should be given a raise. If all of your baristas are as wonderful as they are, well thatās just not fair. Send some of them down my way please, and I will be your loyal customer. I tried to call back to get their exact name but Iām sure theyāre busy dealing with lunch rush.
I only come to Jacksonville once in a while to take my mom to her appointments at the Mayo Clinic (itās about 2 miles from the campus), but Iāll definitely come give you my money every time. EVERY šš¾ SINGLE šš¾ TIME šš¾
UPDATE! I went back to get a cortadito for my dad and got the baristaās nameāEmily!! He agreed, this coffee is AMAZING.
A word to management: Emily is INCREDIBLE. I heard her manage a customerās expectations when they ordered a macchiato. She explained it without down talking Starbucks (super easy to to), which is a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI am not a coffee expert. I grew up on cafe con leche. I have a basic coffee machine and buy supermarket grounded coffee. I know I do not like weak or watery coffee. Over time, I have acquired a liking to medium roasts with lower acidity and are less bitter. But I upgraded my old coffee maker for one that grinds and brew. I read fresh roasted from small shops would have higher quality selections. I found Pura Bean via Google maps search. I liked the Great reviews.
I came to check out the hype. I bought a cup of Joe, two bags of fresh roasted #14 and Bourbon, and a croissanteggwich.
That sandwich was delicious. Coffee was good. I ground and brewed my first cup of the Bourbon today. I was blown away. Very different from my favorite ground brand. I will never go back to it!!! I did not realize I settled for bland and mediocre. Although the cost is more for fresh roasted, the quality, smell, and taste is worth every sip.
Side note: this place can get busy. Food goes fast. Wait can be longer than you are used to. The staff are wonderful. I saw a few people in the dining area sipping and typing. Great small business that deserves the fanfare I have read....
Ā Ā Ā Read moreGreat place to grab a coffee, cappuccino, simple shot of espresso or fancy coffee drink, with a side of some food too. Made in house cinnamon rolls are famous (I hear) I always seem to miss the rolls! Other sandwiches are available also, more like yummy breakfast stuff.
Place is in a big plaza with a ton of parking available located near a HUGE church. Not hard to find and park.
Cool bus outside for a photo op too!
Nitty gritty,, Coffee was a tiny bit on the weak side, (sorry just saying) so extra espresso had to be added to my drink (medium latte no whip) which is a bummer considering the price of the coffee drinks anyways.
Only 4 stars because coffee could be stronger and cinnamon rolls should be popping open to close. Sorry just my consumer opinion. Sad I keep missing them maybe a little.
So I suggest 1-2 extra shots in whatever drink youāre getting. Good luck on the cinnamon rolls, suppose to be the best! One day I will catch them fresh out the oven...
