I usually always give 5 stars for Robert's. We've been coming here for fresh fish for over 2 years. We were away for 6 months, and I wanted to come and get a load of fresh fish to take home and eat a good meal again there for Mother's Day. It's a hard day for me, I lost my 2 sons. Robert is a wonderful man, and we love to visit him while there. Robert wasn't there at the time, and a kid was up front. He wanted to rush us. First, he started on my partner. He asked him if he could help him. My partner said, "Sure, but I'm waiting for my fiancé, she's in the restroom. " The kid replied, "What, you dont know what you want?" And it didn't stop there. We told him we wanted to order food for here and also order some fresh for home. Got the menu on the grill side and sat on the bench to see what we wanted. Again, he starts rushing us. No one else was waiting to be taken care of. When we stood to order, I looked for my favorite drink Robert carries and remembered it was on the other side, so I walked across to get it. While I was doing that, he started on my partner again. He told him he could do both orders here at the same cash register. He answered, "Fine, but we are getting several pounds." I guess he thought we meant already cooked fish. 🙄 He then started asking what drink I was getting, and my partner didn't really know. Lol The kid must not have liked him not knowing what I'm getting because he said some more things. And I guess that's why my partner came running towards me, grabbing my juice out of my hand and running back to the cash register. When I got there, he asked if we were going to eat here or if it's take-out. And we both said, "We're eating here." And this was asked twice, with the same answer. We paid and went to the other side to pick our fresh fish. He didn't come over immediately. We were looking, and it looked about cleaned out, so I got in an even sadder and frustrated mood. I have to say, the kid did earn a few points for reassuring me that there was fish in the back freezer. He made sure we got what we needed. But then he lost those points. He ends up giving our dinner to us all boxed up, ready TO-GO! After telling him twice, we were eating here. By this time, I had it! He wanted us rushed out so bad that he wasn't even listening! He apologized, though, and got us some things to eat the table. Good thing, because there was only one plasticware set. LOL Robert did end up making an appearance during this, and I was happy, but I couldn't say anything. I didn't want to make my own day worse. Instead, I lost my appetite, and we ended up packing everything up, grabbing our fresh fish, and leaving. I didn't blame Robert for not recognizing us. We've been gone for 6 months, and our looks have changed. Lol, but I didn't want to say anything and get in my feelings and say something I didn't want to. I dropped $100 for my Mother's Day, and paid for it. We love going to Robert's!! To see Robert, and for his awesome fresh fish and more. But I doubt if we'll eat in anymore. Or if we see this kid in there. We like to support fellow small business owners. We really love the old-fashioned customer service. But when this generation's horrible attitude is around, I don't want anything...
Read moreI decided to check this place out because my fiance said she'd been here and it was ok. I was not impressed. The food was prepared fairly quickly and it was fresh because the fish can't from there fish market in the next room. I had a fish and chicken combo. My initial complaint is that your options on the menu state you get "fish" as part of your combo but they don't tell you that they choose the fish. Most places similar to this you can pick whatever fish they have on the menu or they clearly specify which fish are an option. The food was fresh but it had very little flavor to it. My chicken wings were fried well but the was not a hint of salt or anything to them. I'm guessing they are accustomed to drenching their wings in sauce but that's not what I was wanting. It was not a good experience for me, I don't believe I will be going there again.
Updated response* Your response shows that you are not being customer friendly. I specifically stated that your menu stated "fish" not "Whiting". I did not intend to create a menu but your menu did not specify that you chose the fish. Your options of available fish has a wide range so without specifying the type of fish you offer on your "create a platter" leaves your guest to believe it's any fish. As I stated any other restaurant that I go to be it Snappers, Hooks, or Tunis, all similar establishments have the same menu setup but do not restrict you. If you are going to have restrictions, put them in the menu so your...
Read moreWe visited this establishment today and the rude customer service deserves a negative five along with the rotten Snapper they prepared (2nd attempt). The first Snapper was fried with scales on it. The 2nd Snapper smelled rotten and the crab cake was terrible(mostly bread and colored peppers) The female employee at the counter was arguing with my wife and said we insulted the product just because we complained about the food. Eventually, my wife went back later with the WHOLE Snapper and one crab cake. Robert, the owner, was not interested in any complaints because he had already been schooled about the incident by the employee. My wife left WITHOUTa refund and left the $19 Snapper and terrible crab cake on their counter. We will NEVER eat here again. We've never been at a restaurant that blatantly refuses to make things right. Also, to fuel the fire, the employee and the cook lied and told Robert my wife used profanity against her earlier. They have surveillance cameras, but conveniently no audio... However, Robert was not interested in hearing the...
