Dance ten, looks three All that Jazz.
The sushi was so good and owner has been at this location for 21 years and it shows, because she really knows what she is doing. While the sign says Sushi snd Subs, it is only
First a few particulars to get out of the way, this is a mostly take out only restaurant. There is a meager dining room, but nothing that would impress a date or business associate..also, parking is plentiful, most of it near the interest. Get lost? Next to the UPS Store.
But you want to know about the food:
Soy Sauce - Kikkoman dark, in little packets to take with you. California Roll - fresh, refreshing and more flavorful than what I am used to. This was so good and I have to admit, I normally am not a fan of the cali toll. Southsider - oh my, Dorothy we are not in Kansas any more. I don't think I have had anything quite like this on the east coast. It was such a great mix of savory, crunch, spice and sweet. It was phenomenal.
So the owner told me she was from Burma, which may explain why she had such a unique take on the sushi rolls. My goal was to eat half of each roll, and save half for dinner or lunch the next day. I failed. Once I took one bite of that Southside, I couldn't stop till it was gone, then I licked my plate clean
Not my proudest moment, but I gotta admit the...
Read moremy first impression walking in I thought I was walking into somebody's house it was very homey I don't know if it's in a good way. it did have a slight odor where I felt like it needed to have a health inspection maybe. overall the woman that made my food made it in front of me the food was not fresh it came out the fridge so it was not freshly cut but for the price and they do have their quality inspection certificates on the wall so you can at least trust it but you know the food can still have an effect on people with let's say sensitive digestion because it was slightly room temperature or warm by the time that I ate the first bite it was not cold. If you are used to fried sushi theres a one page menu. shrimp sauce ...their shrimp sauce is thick it is alright I guess but it's good it's a good place for a good price just wish they would change the atmosphere cuz I don't feel like I'm eating or making my food being prepped at a clean place that's probably the main thing I did not like was I felt like my food was not properly stored and properly crafted. Other than that I ate it. What doesn't kill me....allows me to have a chance to eat...
Read moreWas my first visit. Was apprehensive about what I saw inside. Asked some folks eating there and got a favorable answer, so ordered my usual sushi item, shrimp tempura roll. Thought it odd that it was totally covered by what looked like nuts. Theyed also covered the whole top with shrimp sauce. As I was eating it, I couldn't tell if there was shrimp in them or not. The pieces with tails had shrimp, I think. So, I opened one to find what should have been shrimp, but unless it was grated, shredded, and put back together to go into the sushi, it wasn't shrimp. I looked in several more and found the same unidentifiable lumps that just fell apart. What I thought might be nuts on top, turned out to be the fried chunks that you remove from the oil after frying. And the shrimp sauce was the spicy variety that Publix sells. When I'd finished, I felt a bit nauseous. People of hispanic descent were preparing the sushi, not Asian, which is usual in restaurants making sushi. Felt, are we as Americans that easily fooled? Was very disappointing to come across something...
